I've had large breasts since Jr. High. It has created a lot of issues, including chronic back pain. I had looked into a reduction before, but was having a hard time with previous insurance. After having my child at 37, it only got worse. I was tired of the pain, and since I'm a "mature" mom, I want to be able to keep up with my child.

When are you getting your BR?

I had my surgery on 7/23. I should be a large C, small D. I was "testing" cup sizes at the store last night. It was a weird feeling when I went to the DD, and it was too big! I was used to the biggest cups being too small.

I am only in my 6 post op day, and I haven't really tried to see what cup I am yet. I was in my 32H bra after the BR (underwire was taken out of old bra), but I had to switch it because the I'm swollen on the sides and it was rubbing. I'm wearing a large soft sports bra for now (Genie style) until the swelling goes down. I am supposed to be a C cup now, I hope that's true. I can't wait to know for sure.

They seem tiny to me now! If -I- had been guessing, I would have said I was a B. My boyfriend just laughed at that. :-)

Was it a good laugh or bad haha? Isn't is weird to see yourself with small boobs? I keep staring at them.

It was a good laugh. He has been so supportive. He hasn't cared about my size (or scars). He has just emphasized that he wants me to feel better. (My ex-husband, on the other hand, would tell me I didn't want to have the surgery. :-P) I keep saying, "They're so TINY." My bf chuckles and says that, yes, it is a huge difference, but I'm still on the larger side when it comes to "normal" sized boobs. :-)

Here are some before pictures. The after is 48 hours after surgery. I couldn't wait to take that shower, get my bra off for a few, and get a better look at "the girls." They actually looked better than I was expecting. I was expecting something more boxy, at first, and Frankenstein-ish. I was afraid to look! I have steri-strips with a lot of dried blood under, which made it look worse than it was. A good amount of bruising on one breast. But, with the medication, the pain was "tolerable." I previously had a c-section, and it was no worse than that. I felt swollen, and engorged, and had the most trouble lying down and getting up. But, my boyfriend was a fantastic "nurse!"

2 week follow-up

My follow-up went well. No more weight restrictions. She said I'm still pretty swollen. Makes me wonder how much smaller they'll get! I don't want too little. :-) I went to the store a few days ago, and put some cups over my clothes. DD was too big, and the D and C seemed closer. I was concerned about one area to me, seemed to be split and not healing properly. She looked at it, and had a name for it, but said it was fine. She also said I could use a washcloth around my incisions. Tonight, I was cleaning around the steristrips, and it looked like a hole, about the size of an eraser with a white glob. My mom looked at it, and said that's how the one on my side looked at first. I still emailed pics to my PS. I still have some blood seeping, and now I've located it, at least! I also showed her my cami where the blood and yellow were on it. She said it is all fine. I have slacked on my high protein diet, and she attributes some of my "slower" healing to that.
