Before I had children (at ages 39 and 40), my breasts were fabulous! They were a perky "C" and they couldn't hold a pencil! Now at 56 years old, they hang like 2-deflated eggplants.
Today, June 6, 2016, I had a consult with my preferred surgeon, Dr. Susan Vasco. I was thrilled when she reassured me that women in my situation have the surgery. I'm not imagining that I need a BR, I actually need a BR. I have permanent bra-strap indents in my shoulders, and they measured 32-cm from breast bone to nipple.
This process may take time, since I am required to lose at least 15-lbs (to take my BMI from obese to overweight); after which I am to contact the office to begin the process. If I ever had a reason to drop these lbs, now is the time! Current Weight: 195-lbs, Weight Goal for Surgery: 180-lbs

Hi. You might consider checking on whether your insurance will cover this procedure. Mine did. I was 38 and not overweight; plus my surgeon said weight loss wouldn't have done anything anyway as my tissue was mainly glandular not fat. I do seem to recall weight (potential for reduction through weight-loss) and tissue make-up were part of the insurance decision. Those permanent strap indentations will help you to get insurance coverage.
Best thing I've done!

Hello! Thank you for commenting on my post. I have to bring my BMI into "overweight" range for insurance to consider coverage. I would rather be closer to my ideal weight prior to having the surgery anyway, so it's ok. After I've dropped the lbs, I'm to contact my surgeon, and go from there. Honestly, I can't wait! I keep visualizing myself in cute tops, dresses, etc. In addition to the pains, frankly, nothing ages a woman more than droopy boobies.

Yay! Good for you; just had mine May 16. I am 55; also with 2 children...don't even ever remember having perky anything but they are now! I have a list of things I did before surgery on the forum titled Be Prepared and Feel Empowered. I'm very glad I took those steps. Still love my boomerang pillows! Take care!

I feel your pain! I am 55 with 2 grown children. My weight was up and down for years, but the past few years I have finally lost and kept it off. When I called for a consult the first question she asked was height and weight and I was pleasantly surprised that I was in the range! I have suffered for years with back issues, I also have pretty bad dents too and this is hopefully going to help all of that. My surgeon submitted to my insurance and I was approved in 2 weeks! My surgery is scheduled for July 8 as long as EKG and blood work are okay. I can't even imagine how it will feel to have the girls back up where they belong! You can do this - you don't have that much to lose! What a payoff it will be too : )

Thank you for responding! I'm finally getting my weight under control (no more cleaning the plates after kids...). Last year at this time, I weighed 221; this morning I weighed 191! I'll bet you are thrilled! You'll have to send me a comment and tell me all about it! Hopefully, I won't be too far behind!

I was once over 200 pounds and I am only 5"3". What motivated me most was I knew my daughter was going to get engaged and thought of all the pictures of me looking large was enough to get me started! I decided this was the last time. That was five years ago and I've kept it off. I live my life low carb. It's what works for me. My husband is not low carb but I find it is easy enough to adjust my meals to satisfy him. I now weigh around 160 and stay within a 5 pound range. I've always been curvy and busty and never lose cup size - only back size. So looking forward to hopefully a C cup. I will keep you posted - keep on losing, it will be worth it!

Thank you Lisa for responding! My weight is coming off, slowly but slowly. Some days are better than others, but I am looking forward to my reduction; it's almost all I think about! Keep me posted on your results! I would love to hear about them.

Me too, can't stop dreaming about what they will look like lol - 2 weeks from today!
Stay focused and you can do this. You are honestly going to feel like a totally new woman once this is done. It's one of the best things I ever did for myself.
Good job, focus on the end results.
