Drain removal after thoughts

Drain removal thoughts...duh!!
It wasn't bad, like on a scale of 1-10, it was a 1.
I took a narcotic pain pill 30 mins before my drain removal appt, not sure if it the removal was better because of this, or not really needed.
The left drain burned at the incision site, but gauze pressed on it immediately when it was removed took away the burning pain.
The drains are long, and it felt like weird pressure when he was removing them, but no pain inside my stomach.
The liberated freedom you experience after they are removed is one of the best things ever! After being in pain, having excitement/regret/fear and all the other extreme feelings during post op - having the drains removed is AMAZING!!!
The drain holes leak a bit of fluid until they heal, more so when showering. My left drain has burned a bit in the shower, probably because it's more open and soap got in it. They are nasty, but necessary. Hope this helps someone!!

A few more updates!

I thought of a few more things...incase anyone ever reads this researching just like I did!!
•2 weeks post op, still can't use muscles to fart! Sounds weird, but you'll have gas and you have to wait for it to come out on it's own!
• I sneezed 2 days ago, that was incredibly painful. Try your best not to sneeze, it burns like a [RS bleep]!
•I stopped taking narcotic pain meds at 9 days post op, then took one an hour before having drains removed at 11 days post op. I've been managing pain with ibuprofen, maybe once or twice a day.
•don't race to get off pain meds, they prescribe them for a reason! I felt pressure to get off asap because everyone else was, but this surgery hurts.
•poop is a serious issue because of the pain meds. I drink 80-120 ounces of water, 1-2 protein shakes, 3-4 cups of coffee, added fiber to my shakes, even added milk of magnesia (which really helped) but I didn't get back to regular until after stopping the narcs. You can't push, you're bloated and backed up from not popping which hurts from being swollen from surgery. This part sucks, but you'll get past it. Ask for help from your ps if it gets too bad!
•I still sleep in my recliner at 2 weeks post op - I move A LOT in my sleep, and I'm too scared to roll over on accident. I miss my bed, and sleeping next to my hubby, but it's the sleep status for now!
•I started driving again the day after i stopped the narcotics. It's easier to drive than ride as a passenger for bumps. I was more uncomfortable as a passenger.
That's all for now ????

Drains finally out!! 11 days post op!!

Finally had my drains removed at 11 days post op!! The drains were the worst part of the whole process so far. One of them was inserted right in the crease of my leg, that has made wearing clothing/panties difficult/uncomfortable. I didn't think about asking where the drains would be placed by my PS, but I would suggest anyone going for consult to ask/request it not be placed right in the crease. I discovered I could keep the drain bulbs on the inside pockets of my jacket which was super helpful, obviously if it's not too hot to wear a jacket! I will not miss those nasty bloody bells, but I'm happy they helped keep fluid from accumulating. Also, use a lanyard for holding the drains when showering, but wear it on your shoulder like a purse so you can wash your neck/hair easier!! Forgot to post this earlier - pics included!!
