Do you know how many cc's of fat he put in? It's oly been 10 days you're still swollen. I'd give it 3 - 6 months to make a final determination. Taka a look at other users on here like "d to the j" they were also swollen for a bit and now 6 weeks later look great. Don't rush into anything and be patient.

I'm not sure

Although the bruising has subsided what you are seeing is mostly swelling. There seems to be a trend whereby people either love or hate their results around day 10. The people who love the results get disappointed as the swelling and fat dissipates in the next few weeks, whereas those who are worried that they are overfilled are happy to see the results fade.

You look good and the results will settle in the coming weeks.

Thank you I'm really getting worried hopefully you are right I thought by day 10 things would have settle down

If the fat looks too heavy to you in the cheeks and around the mouth, you can chew gum non-stop. You can also ask your doctor about massaging where you think there's too much fat. It's very early though and you will likely deflate quite a bit still. If you are afraid to risk too much fat staying, wait a little longer, and if it still looks overfilled, consider chewing gum and massaging. Personally, I never had noticeable deflation past 3 weeks, but everybody is different.

Ok thank you !

Is ice a good idea? Since its early maybe I can kill some fat with ice pack but im not sure

It seems like a plausible idea to me, but I'm not sure. I know they say to try to limit motion as much as possible, and chewing gum is very intensive on the muscles, so it's likely among one of the best things you can do after a FT in the lower to mid face region, to decrease survival chances. I was told massage, and especially harder massage, has the tendency to make fat go away if done earlier on. I have also been told that people with high metabolisms that work out a ton have a hard time keeping grafts, so if you like to run.... maybe that's your ticket. I also saw one doctor write that he had seen a number of patients who were on extended low carb diets after FT and he thought it caused poor take. I would not be surprised at all if this were true. Maybe this is b/c the patients were in a state of ketosis, which happens when eating very few carbs (like on atkins stage 1) and your body goes into a metabolic state where it burns fat very quickly.

Awesome I love running one of the things I do a lot
October 4, 2015
Oh never mind they took the fat from my leg lol can't run but in afraid if i chew gum nonstop how would the fat die out ? Would I need have the dead fat removed ? Still worried
October 4, 2015
I honestly don't know. I don't know of any studies done where doctors tried to force a FT to not take. Were you a regular runner prior to your FT? If you were, you have a higher chance of lower take, and you're still so early on. Usually the fat just reabsorbs, but unfortunately there's always a chance lumps will show up with a FT.

Not sure if I'm looking at too much fat or swelling :/
October 5, 2015
It's only been 11 days! Don't chew any more gum!!! The fat you have looks amazing, and it will continue to deflate. Sometimes it takes up to 6 months for final results. You will likely be swollen to some extent for up to 3 weeks after procedure. Then, fat should absorb over the course of three months. So your final result will be in 3-4 months. :) just be patient! You don't want too much fat to go away in the next few months. You look so much younger and your skin looks so nice!

I hope so it's to the point I can't smile :( il stop chewing gum I guess but is ice ok ?

I'm 11 days today as well. You look great! I'm STILL bruised.
October 5, 2015
Thanks
October 5, 2015
You will not see the final result for a couple of months--most of the initial is swelling and many people wish after the swelling subsides that they had more volume. Everyone metabolizes fat differently--but looking at your before and after shots your doc did a great job! Please don't do anything to cause the fat to die off.
October 5, 2015
Ok! I hope putting ice isn't a bad thing
October 5, 2015
You look a looooooot better!!! Totally worth it
October 5, 2015
:)
October 5, 2015
Give it sometime like the previous poster stated. I think it looks good wait six weeks to two months from now and even then it might not have metabolized. You are looking great. Trust that.

October 6, 2015
I was told when mine was done it takes six weeks to go down but I think it looks good not over done at all
October 7, 2015
Don't worry most of the fat gets reabsorbed you won't have the chipmunk look for long. Also no need to chew gum.

12 days is not very much you are still swollen. When I had done my fat transfer to the face most of the swelling was gone after about 6 weeks. So you have to wait longer till you judge anything.
