Revision A Week Later

So last week I had part of my TT scar revised. I’m not sure if it was he procedure itself or the anesthetic injected was he cause, but I spiked a fever late Wednesday and had one until mid-day Saturday. Fortunately no infection. The incision site hurt mostly due to the location, but not bad. Mostly it is just annoying. I can’t wait for the tape to fall off so I can see the new scar. I attached a photo from the first day of the procedure to show the length of the removal.

Day After Revision

Yesterday’s revision title should’ve said 6 am not pm. I had a fitful night. The incision was more painful than I expected. It started bleeding, but my daughter fixed me right up. She was a little too eager as always. Perhaps it’s a combination of being my daughter and a nurse, lol. Anyway, I could only sleep 2 hours at a time. I’ve been staying on top of ibuprofen to help with pain. It hurt to walk for a while yesterday and I had to sleep on my back or left side. I think it’s the location of the incision that’s causing me so much agony. I still have pain when I move wrong or forget that 5 inches was sliced out sewn back together yesterday. Tomorrow will be better :-). Oh, the nurse did call to check on me. Since it was a minor procedure I did not expect it, but it was nice all the same.

Revision Done 6:40 pm MST

So it took about 30 minutes. Let me just say that the anesthetic injection was a [RS bleep]. It burned so freaking bad that I was gripping the surgical table to steady myself. One it started working it was all good. So weird feeling your body tugged on during suturing. I had stitches put in my forehead when I was 5 but can’t say I remember the sensation. Will be glad to get home and get some sleep. I will keep updating with this revision to see if it was worth it. Take care and happy healing.

Dr. Vath and his staff made me and my husband feel welcome and comfortable on the journey that I am about to take. I knew within the first 5 minutes that I wanted him to be my doctor. There was no pressure about anything and he gave me information that I was not aware of. Kari was wonderful and I look forward to working with her during this time. The overall atmosphere of the office immediately put you at ease because it seems as if you're family and they are genuinely concerned about your care. What a staff! I loved them all including the student nurse who helped attend to me. Everyone had a great sense of humor and it made the experience even better. There's not enough good adjectives to describe my experience but definitely A1 service.
