I have begun interviewing orthodontists on my area. Just by asking for a discount I was able to get one at the first ortho. I'm going to get a couple more quotes. But I definitely like this office and this ortho.
She sat with me for nearly an hour. I am a candidate for Invisalign. I am looking at starting as soon as we get our tax return. I will be using the VPro5 to help. She's estimating 18-24 months without the VPro5, and down to about 14 with, simply because I have a lot of movement that needs to happen.
First I will have to finish my dental work. A wisdom extraction, a filling and my permanent crown placed. I'm hoping to get that done in January.
Once that is done I'll go in for impressions and get things started! I have a slight overbite and a slight overjet. But nothing too bad. 14 months would be about perfect, I'll be done or nearly so in time for my sisters wedding!
The ortho says I will have to wear rubberbands and I'll have many buttons. She also said that I will have a gummy smile when all is said and done. But that is easily corrected.
Here's to the next 18 months!
1. Finish dental work.
2. Invisalign with VPro5
3. Teeth whitening
4. Gum lift for top teeth, gum graft for one lower tooth.
5. Never stop smiling!!!!

Finally settled on an orthodontist!
Sparky1221January 31, 2018
I finally chose my ortho. Her name is Dr. Terry with Smiles for Colorado.
I was very pleased with her insistence on perfection. She really seems to care that her patients are 100% satisfied. Her staff are all amazing.
Total bill comes out to $5245 for the Invisalign and $595 for the VPro5.
I go in to get my scans done next month and I could not be more excited! I get to use the Itero scanner instead of the impression goop, which should cut some time off of my wait for trays. I will update when I go in for my scan!

No Invisalign!

Okay! So I went in for my scan last week. And my ortho sat down to talk with me for about an hour. I have a wisdom tooth on bottom and no matching tooth on top. This has let the tooth grow much higher than it should have. This is something Invisalign cannot fix unfortunately. I had three options;
1) have the tooth extracted and do Invisalign (not something I want since it replaced my second molar)
2) have a TAD installed to crank the tooth down and do Invisalign (costs more money)
3) traditional braces.
She also said that by the end of all of my refinements I could very well be in Invisalign for three or more years, even with VPro5. With In-Ovation braces I am looking at 2 ish years. (It's basically the Damon Clear system)
The cost works out to be the same since I talked them so far down on Invisalign. Haha. Yay for negotiating skills.
So tomorrow I go in to get the top row installed. It will all be worth it in the end! I recently celebrated my 26th birthday. Braces this year, Lasik next year. Hopefully it will all be done before I turn 28!
I have been saying my farewells to my favorite foods. Bagels, hot wings, trail mix. Haha. I see why people lose weight with braces!
I have become slightly obsessed with teeth lately. I examine everyone's teeth damn near constantly now. It's kind of funny.
I will post again tomorrow once I get my braces on! ???? teeeeth!!!!!
