Debracing day!

I got my braces off on Monday. It's been two days. My appointment was an hour and ten minutes long! The brackets were off in fifteen minutes. Only one molar band really hurt to have taken off.once everything was off I brushed my teeth. Then I got my first look at the smile I will see for the rest of my life in the mirror. I cried! Once I got myself under control (amd took some pictures for my husband who also cried), I went back to get the glue off. That part sucked. My tongue shot out at one point and got poked by the buzzing thing. Then my ortho accidentally bumped my lip with it. My bottom front gums were extremely irritated and red, puffy and bloody. After removing the glue I brushed again and tried to soothe the irritation. I could not stop looking at my smile!!! My teeth are not unnaturally perfect, but they are straight and I am extremely happy. I love my teeth now!!! After he glue was the impressions. Those are fine as long as you breathe through your nose. Once that was done I went back to brush my teeth a final time! I asked to come back the next day for pictures when I picked up my retainers.
So yesterday I picked up my retainers. They did not feel good!!! Haha. They hurt. I have to wear them continuously for three months then nightly indefinitely. After two full days of wearing them it doesn't feel like I am going to rip out my teeth by taking them off anymore!
Before getting the retainers I had a full day of absolute loveliness! I ate hot wings, gum and soda. I had chewy candy and crunchy things. It was fantastic.
It was worth every single penny. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

10 Months

I had my orthodontist visit a couple weeks ago. And I am officially getting debraced on February 18th!!! 348 days in braces, 11 months and 11 days!!! I am so excited for this! I will update with pictures on the big day! I'll have my teeth shaped when I get the braces off then I will have my gums contoured after 3-4 months as well as getting my teeth bleached. I have never been so excited to smile in my life!!!

9 months and an infection!

I am nine minths in to my treatment. Two - four months to go!!! I have an appointment next Friday.
I am so happy with the progress my teeth have made over the last nine months. I could get my braces off next week and be ecstatic with my results. :-) unfortunately I got something lodged up on top of my molar bands, under my gims, and ended up getting an infection. But oh well. Super excited.
