Here is my story from the start...
9 years ago I had my first breast augmentation to fill the void that breast feeding left. My ps used Mentor Saline implants/ overfilled 450cc implants to 475cc and 500cc. My implants were placed under the muscle through a Binelli lift. To make a very long story short... fast forward 9 years... here I was with two very different breasts! My left breast was huge and hard! Years of capsular contracture left me with a Baker Grade 4!! My right breast was two sizes smaller. To be honest with you, I couldn't even remember what my breast used to look like. When I decided that it was time to fix the problem (which had gotten worse after having another baby), I had two consultations. The first left me with a horrible outlook... then I had my consultation with Dr. Raskin. Before going in I researched him and had found one, maybe two pictures online. Normally I like looking through the before and after pictures and then deciding if I want to go through a consultation. I have never before me with a doctor that did not post pictures but decided to make and apt after reading all of Dr. Raskins' credentials.
Day of my consultation: I walked into the office and was greeted by two very happy ladies... Dr. Raskin's wife and his assistant, July. Dr. Raskin's wife was oh so very sweet, detailed, and informative! Before even going in to see the Dr., I was given plenty of informative brochures!! I was then taken back to see the Dr. He examined me and diagnosed me with a Baker grade 4 capsular contracture on my left breast and a partially deflated right breast implant. He was incredibly genuine and concerned for my health more than anything and of course fixing the appearance. We talked about possibilities and I told him that I would talk to my husband and then go back for a second consult. The front desk ladies were wonderful and very helpful setting up and apt time that worked for both my husband and I.
Second consult/ Pre-op: My husband and I arrived at the office to once again be greeted by Mrs. Raskin and the other ladies! We were treated like family, asked if we wanted some fresh coffee or water. When we went back to the examination room, Dr. Raskin took the time to get to know my husband and to answer all of his questions and concerns! We then moved over to his office where we continued to talk about what implant size/ shape/ type would be best for me. Dr. Raskin recommended silicone textured implants. I went with his recommendation and cannot be happier! Dr. Raskin wrote all of the prescriptions and gave me all of the post of care instructions.
Day of surgery: I arrived at the surgery location, checked in and then was taken back. I was greeted by Dr. Raskin with a smile! He drew his markings and let the nurse and anesthesiologist do their thing. I was never nervous or scared! Then I was out.... Next thing I knew, I was out of surgery and my husband was with me.
I was pretty much out of it for the next few days. My surgery wasn't a simple breast augmentation so don't be scared! Dr. Raskin removed my capsule and all of the scar tissue... he said it was about an eight of an inch thick.. a lot more than we expected! He then removed my old implants and put in my new silicone textured gel implants: 500cc and 505cc. He did a crease incision and placed the implants under the muscle just like I had before. For the next week I took heavy meds around the clock. The only reason my pain was under control was because of what was prescribed to me! I am now two months post op and could not be happier! My breast are soft and natural looking! My scar is very discrete thanks to the amazing hands of my doc!
I can't find enough words to say to thank Dr. Raskin for everything that he did for me! He is a TOP of the LINE plastic surgeon and in my opinion, an incredibly wonderful person! I HIGHLY recommend him!!
