4 months and 11 days since surgery

It has been 4 months and 11 days since my surgery day. As requested; here are some photos of my healing/progress. I am very happy with my nose so far. Each month I notice change, it only gets better and better. The tip still is very hard and it will drop a little more with time according to my doctor. Regarding my functional breathing issues, they are definitely gone and I breath like champ. I couldn't be happier.

I will post more photos in another 4 months from now to see the new progress, and the before and after photos for all of you to see. I hope this helps for those who are interested in seeing this doctor for your rhinoplasty or anyone considering getting these procedures done.

FYI - The doctor didn't reduce the size of my nostrils, that wasn't necessary and I didn't want that either. Also, the left side of my face is smaller than the right side. Getting your nose done will not fix your face's symmetry.

Hi - I hope this really helps someone. I have so much information for your but I'll do my best to share as much as possible.
I have mild asthma and really bad allergies. Over time the air flow in my nostril worsen over the years especially the left one. I tried so many prescribed nasal sprays including some with steroids and it would only give me temporary relief (1hr or so). I even started snoring and was constantly breathing with mouth instead. I had a CT Sinus done and they found a moderate-sized retention cyst in the left maxillary due to my sinus drainage issues I had over the years. The CT also showed a nasal septum deviation to the left. My primary doctor referred me to see a specialist, an ENT doctor. The ENT told me no need to remove the cyst, they go away on their own. He also checked my nose/septum and said I just needed more nasal sprays which he prescribed two of them. Once again I would only get temporary relief. I got sooo tired of not being able to breath daily like a normal person should. I was congested every single day and taking allergy medicine daily would only help so much anymore. I have HMO insurance so I decided to start doing research about solving my breathing issues on own and while I was at it I wanted to research about doing a rhinoplasty as well to fix my droopy looking nose that got worse over the years too.
After doing my research, consulting and reviewing many doctors in the US and Mexico. I am Mexican but I live in CA. So Mexico was a comfortable option for me. However; I came across Dr. Rito Mariño in Bogota, Colombia. After doing my homework and researching him and his work over the years I decided I wanted to consult with him and have him fix my functional breathing issues as well my desired cosmetic work done, rhinoplasty.
I prepared myself and my body as much as possible for this surgery. I am a pescatarian (vegetarian that only eats only fish, no other animal products, no dairy) so I already have a great diet and didn't need to avoid any foods prior to surgery so that was an advantage to me.
Other than reserving your stay and booking your travel to Colombia. Here are some things that really helped me. Everything you need for Plastic Surgery Pre & Post-Op you can find at makemeheal.com

MUST NEED:
-A friend or relative to care for you after surgery
-2 weeks off to recover and go back to work (one week doesn't cut it, I tried and failed)
-Cold & Hot Soothing Eye Compress (for Tired & Puffy Eyes, Post Surgery)
-VitaMedica Arnica Montana & Bromelain Healing Supplements Kit (with Quercetin)
-Boiron Arnica Montana Gel
-Boiron Arnica Montana Cream
-ChapStick (I use carmax works best for me) *your lips will get extremely dry after surgery
-Lots of pillows (you must sleep in a semi-sitting position after surgery)

I am posting photos from day one April 29, 2014 until May 15, 2014. As of today it has been 16 days exactly from my surgery and I believe I am doing pretty well. I still have a way to go but here are the results so far and I like what I see. I had done a Septoplasty with Turbinoplasty and Rhinoplasty. The doctor didn't reduce the size of my nostril, that wasn't necessary and I didn't want that either. If you have any questions let me know. I'll follow up in month. Good luck to all of you thinking about getting these types of procedures done. I hope you find this helpful.
