3 Weeks Post Op Update

It's hard to believe I had my explant/lift done 3 weeks ago. I feel like I was just calling to have my initial consult. I feel like I am healing well, although as the pic shows, I still have glue all over my breasts so they look like I just got out of surgery. I am following my doctor's instructions and am still just walking and riding a stationary bike for exercise - no lifting over 10 pounds and no heavy exercise until the 6 week mark. I am still a bit sore in some spots, nothing major at all. Sleeping on my back still, too. I wear tight exercise bras at all times other than showering. I have to say that I am happier with my breasts right now than I have ever been. Even though my nipples look a tad lopsided, I feel like I have such a "normal" profile in clothing. I no longer feel like my boobs enter a room before I do! I can only say to those considering this procedure, it has been such a positive decision for me. Reading the stories of all the other women who wanted to feel natural again or just lighter makes me feel like I have a strong network of support out there. I will follow up in the weeks to come - I am anxious to see me sans boob glue!

Drains are finally out!

Today is the 10 day after surgery mark. At my appointment this morning, the nurse removed my drains (hurray!). That has really been the only difficult part of recovery for me. I was never in a lot of pain, but knowing there were tubes coming out of my body draining fluids made me queasy and uncomfortable. One benefit to them, however, was how little I moved around these last 10 days. I can work on full range of motion with my arms and start walking for exercise. Very excited about that! While my office provided a front closure bra for me, for those of you that need to pick one up, the front hook and eye worked really well. It was a 38 B,C,D and pretty comfortable. I purchased a front zip athletic bra today that I will wear pretty much 24/7 for the next month. Still feeling that this is the best decision ever - I love looking normal in a T-shirt!

Day 6, It's true what the doctors say...

So, pain killers can indeed constipate you! I decided to stop taking the pain killers yesterday in an effort to get things moving in my system. By early evening, no luck, so I took 2 Dulcolax tabs. By 7:30 this morning my system kicked into "go" and lots of cramps and about 10 trips to the bathroom later, I became a regular person again! Not sure how many of you had to go through this fun phase, but I'm glad it's over. I should be fine without pain pills now. My awesome husband washed my hair salon style in the kitchen sink for me yesterday, since I am still in no shower/drains mode. Hopefully those will come out in the middle of the week, my doc says he usually likes to keep them in for 7-10 days.
Soooo glad to have ditched the obnoxious overflowing DDs for what looks to be maybe a B or C (hoping for B). I'm getting a bit of cabin fever, but I can surely see the light at the end of the tunnel. Will get better pics at my next doctor appt.
P.S. If you need to take a laxative tab, I recommend ONE (not two)
