CO2 laser for pores and uneven skin

I forgot to update a year out but I can safely say this procedure did absolutely nothing for me. My skin still has a bad texture to it, my pores were not reduced at all. My skin feels and looks a lot saggier. Can't tell if that's natural aging or what, but I'm still in my 20s...

Upon my follow up, my doctor was very dismissive and said it was "all in my head". There is a difference between the fluorescent lighting in the doctor's office vs going outside into daylight and seeing these issues.

Overall, waste of money and time. My skin seems to be immune to any sort of treatment though, so don't let my experience deter you.

Some skin close ups

Here are some close ups. Sorry for being so close and blurry but you still get the idea. It is hard to go outside in the light or even wear makeup. My skin was never this bad before. Wish I just settled with what I had before.

how many treatments did you receive?
Just one
that is not enough. I am serious. after 3 you should see results. im talking about REAL results like 50-70 percent improvement.
How long did you space your treatments out? I'm a bit skeptical in case it ends up making it worse...
there 3 treatments , spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
I agree. Just had my 3rd one today
how did you look after your 2nd one ? srs. what were the results like?
I think it looks better tbh
These are all after pics of either side of my face. I don't have any clear before pictures of my skin but was not this bad before. All these white bumps came to surface and my pores are even bigger now
I get co2 and I get great results. Went 3 times
Is it the ipl laser? The light? I would not risk doing it again
What is the 3 treatment regime? I do CO2 every year (Deka dot laser) at a level 6-8. For a while it looks like my skin improves but in the long run, I'm not so sure. Interested in exactly which laser and at what level is used for the three treatments?
I don't know the level, I'd have to ask. But everyone here keeps talking about "3 treatments" and I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing. This doctor made it seem like I would only need one and that I'd need to wait months for it to improve, if it even does. If you do yours every year then I feel like it might be the same one as mine. Definitely didn't say it was a treatment you got every few weeks. Staying indoors and taking work off for a week+ multiple times a year isn't a luxury I can afford sadly.

CO2 Laser for Pores and Uneven Skin...

I sought out a cosmetic dermatologist to treat my large pores and uneven skin texture caused by clogged pores underneath the skin. The doctor gave me a different diagnosis, saying I had ice pick scars, whereas my regular dermatologist said it was indeed caused by clogged pores. I found this a bit odd, since I've never had scarring issues outside from red marks.

They recommended the Co2 laser. I thought it would be the most aggressive procedure to address my issue, and would not need multiple treatments before seeing results. I have seen the Co2 laser used more for wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, and deep scars, so I wasn't sure if this would be the best treatment to address pores, but I was assured it would still be effective

The procedure itself was somewhat painful, but still manageable. Recovery was a bit gross and annoying since you cannot go outside at all and have to be hyper vigilant about any sun exposure. My mistake for getting this done close to summertime! I am still somewhat red from it but can easily cover it with makeup. Hoping this will go away overtime, but thankfully I do not look like a burnt lobster, which was my biggest fear.

I'm about a month out now, and in my opinion, my skin looks a lot worse. My pores are still huge and I see no improvement in that area. My texture is even bumpier, I look like I have wrinkly and crepey skin if the light hits it a certain way, even though I'm in my 20s. I've noticed a lot more people calling me ma'am at work (coincidence?), and recently someone guessed my age to be in my late 20s early 30s, when before many people would mistake me for being a teenager. Not sure if I'm being paranoid, but it happened right after I got this procedure done so I'm inclined to believe that others are noticing it as well.

I have been told that it will get better over time, but so far I am not seeing it and am quite skeptical. I fear that I ended up just making my skin worse. I want to put it as a "Not Worth It" but it may still be too early for that. I will update if things improve.

I feel your pain
Having exact same experience
Guess only thing to do is wait to see if it does improve in time although I think 3-6months a big excessive to wait for a result!!
Yes I agree. Especially since I've seen other reviews where peoples results were immediate after healing. I don't have much hope but fingers crossed
Who was your provider?
Was a fully ablative CO2 or just Fractional?
I've had Fractional CO2 on my entire face, under sedation, twice in five years, and noticed little difference. It did nothing for my hypo-pigmentation. I think it did increase collagen, because my skin remains firmer? No way to know. I also had CO2, under sedation. Left me with big white areas under my eyes. Looking now for a doctor to "stipple" the area underneath.
