Day 4 after fully ablative CO2 laser, my face burns & is oozing

I just had CO2 fully ablative (not fractionated) full face resurfacing treatment. I'm on day 4 and it is absolutely MISERABLE. My face burns like hell even with prescription painkillers. It is oozing a disgusting yellow liquid that literally drips off my face. The layer of aquafor on my face is a quarter to half inch thick and doesn't even seem like enough. Cool air feels good for about 10 seconds until it makes my face too dry. There is no relief. Every towel I own is a greasy mess. I haven't slept more than 3 or 4 hours at a time due to face drip. Because my the skin on my lip area hurts so bad, I haven't eaten anything except a few crackers so the various medications don't make me sick. My family is terrified that I will be permanently disfigured. I realize there is no treatment that produces as dramatic results as this but it is not for wusses. I hope it will be worth it. If you asked me today, I would say that I would rather eat nails than this recovery. I will update in a few more days.
