I’m a 30 year old professional from the Cleveland area who had been interested in a rhinoplasty for a long time. Dr. Guyuron had been recommended to me by a friend as well as another surgeon because of his significant publications around rhinoplasty. The surgery was $9,000 (plus an additional $2,500 for facitlity charges). I’m currently a month out from my surgery, but unfortunately, my experience has been so terrible that I feel I need to leave a review now. Dr. Guyuron has been incredibly rude to me and did not listen to me when I articulated what I wanted out of my surgery. I will likely have a revision rhinoplasty surgery in a couple years. My consult lasted only 15 minutes or so. I articulated my areas of concern: width of the bridge, hump at the top, projection. I told him that I was happy with the current rotation of my nose and that I DID NOT want anymore rotation. After he observed me and talked about how lucky I was to be there, I left. I didn’t have another appointment until my pre-op. He came into the room for less than 60 seconds (only speaking to me once). His nurse told him my pictures weren’t ready; he seemed agitated, asked if I had questions and he left. (in hindsight, I should have pushed him to tell me when he envisioned for my nose) Day of surgery- I NEVER saw Dr. Guyuron. Post surgery appointment - I only saw him for 2 minutes. He observed my nose, asked if I had questions (I had none) and he left. Post surgery appointment 2- nurses removed my nose cast. I didn’t see Dr. Guyuron. Post surgery appointment 3- about 2.5 weeks after surgery- I was unhappy with the result of my nose. My projection was decreased but it’s still prominent. Hump is gone (yay!). however the tip has been rotated significantly against my wishes. I have no definition to the tip of my nose anymore. Bridge of nose had not been narrowed. When I asked Dr. Guyuron what changes to expect after the swelling went down, he told me that my criticisms were “UNFAIR” and to “MOVE ON WITH MY LIFE.” It is clear to me now that this man does not care about his patients and does not listen to them. He treated me with respect until I paid him.
