After a great deal of research, I decided that my breast implants needed to be removed. I had them done in 2010, so they were 7 years old. I had 350cc silicone implants placed below the muscle and had always been very happy with the outcome. Although I had no major health issues, I chose to be proactive and have them removed before that did happen. (I did have a high level of inflammation in my bloodwork last year and I've also gained about 55 lbs in the past 7 years---maybe due to implants, maybe just due to my diet being far from perfect.)
I read reviews and did tons of research to try to make the best decision possible and decided to put my trust in Dr. Feng. I had my surgery 8 days ago and I couldn't be happier with the experience!
I stayed at the Homewood Suites in Beachwood and used their shuttle to go most places, occasionally used Lyft or Uber to go further away. I highly recommend that hotel; it's a good price when using the code Dr. Feng's office provided. Also, the entire staff was extremely friendly AND knowledgeable about Dr. Feng's procedure because so many patients stay there. It was no big deal to them at all, they knew exactly how to help me by removing the weight at the top of the door to my hotel room so that I could open it after surgery.
I flew to Cleveland on a Friday evening for my Saturday consultation, then had surgery on a Monday. From the moment I entered the building for my consultation, I was treated like royalty. I got a tour of the facility, which is gorgeous and top-notch in every way. During the consultation, Dr. Feng took the time to get to know me as a person, and even discussed ways to easily eat healthier. After the consultation, I went into the cafe on site for a late lunch. Everything there is vegan and delicious!!! I chose to order some soup and salad to take back to my hotel for the weekend--I knew that as long as I ate the food from the clinic, I'd be eating healthy foods low in sodium and would get the nutrients I needed. I got my prescriptions filled that day so I'd be ready for surgery Monday (I got an antibiotic, 5 Xanax in case I needed them to get a good night's sleep, and also Celebrex if needed after surgery---the only one I actually took was the antibiotic, as the others weren't ever needed).
On the morning of surgery, I had to be there at 11:30 and they immediately took me back to get ready. I was super nervous, but everyone was soooo nice and put me at ease. Crina got me ready for surgery and then Carla came along to walk me back into the operating room. Beforehand, I was told to picture a vacation destination I'd like to go and that I'd think of that before falling asleep.....even though they said that it's common for patients to dream of their chosen destination during surgery and even take the nurses, etc. with them on the trip, I didn't think that would happen to me as I rarely dream. I chose Bora Bora and we talked about that before I fell asleep--the anesthesiologist even made me a "Bora Bora cocktail" for my IV. Sure enough, I did dream of Bora Bora and was able to give everyone details when I woke up--the staff there went with me & we even swam with dolphins!! When I woke up, I was in no pain at all. When asked to rate my pain on a 1-10, it was literally a 0.0......I even joked with Dr. Feng that I didn't believe she even did anything at all, other than wrap an ACE bandage around me. I was given water, a bowl of fresh fruit, and even ordered a protein shake from the FengFit cafe. When it was time to leave, I was given a HUGE Feng signature salad and Ultimate Noodle Soup to take back to my hotel.
When I got back to the hotel, I ate and watched tv....even walked down the hall a few times just to keep moving (slowly, of course). The next day, I went to The Cleveland Museum of Art and walked around looking at the exhibits--it's a great museum and a nice way to move around at a slow pace after surgery. I felt a tiny bit of soreness in my upper chest, but nothing drastic at all. I never really did experience any pain. I also went to Whole Foods to get a naked rotisserie chicken so I could shred that and add it to my soups and salads. That evening, I went shopping at Target. I did continue taking the supplements from Dr. Feng and I also used my essential oils to help minimize inflammation and speed healing, so I'm sure both of those contributed to my speedy recovery.
I went back to the Feng clinic for lunch on Wednesday. Before making the trip there, I wasn't sure I'd be actually ordering foods from her clinic. I planned on just going out to eat. However, her food were delicious and actually very affordable--especially wen you consider the HUGE portion sizes and high quality of food.
I followed directions very precisely (keeping elbows at sides, not lifting anything over 5 pounds, eating low sodium, etc.) because I wanted my drains removed as soon as possible!! They really never bothered me and emptying them was so easy, even though the drains caused me lots of anxiety before surgery. They weren't bad at all, but I definitely wanted to get them removed as fast as I could. Thursday morning when Luda called to check my numbers, she confirmed that I could have them removed that day. We set up an appointment for me to go just before lunch to get that done. Again, I was really nervous about the removal. She deadened the area with shots (and that was even scary to me) and then removed the drains--it was a breeze; I can't believe I was so worried about that. Dr. Feng took some after pics and then I was bandaged and given instructions for how to care for my incisions in the coming weeks.
I flew home Friday afternoon and I'm still doing great. The entire experience went better than I could've ever dreamed possible. I'll update with the before & after pics and the pictures taken during surgery as soon as I receive them in the mail. There are sooo many things I could include in this review, but it's already lengthy. Feel free to ask any questions. I can't recommend Dr. Feng highly enough. It's definitely worth saving your money and traveling there to go see the very best!
