I have spent several months thinking about having this performed. My work involves travel and much face to face customer contact. I work with so many younger women and when I look at my pictures I feel I look much older than I feel. In fact, I hate pictures of myself anymore. I am a happy person, but the lip folds make me look like I am scowling all the time. I am going for the "works" so that my face is balanced. This is quite a commitment from me but I have made my decision. My surgeon is Dr. Jason Leedy in Cleveland OH.

RBF!!!! Thank you for making me laugh. I think the outcome was amazing. Can you tell me about the pain?

Thanks! It doesn’t hurt until a couple days later, and actually it wasn’t really pain. It was more discomfort from swelling. I’m a side sleeper and there were metal staples along the side of my head behind the hairline, those made laying on my side uncomfortable, like the old days when you slept with curlers in your hair.

Well I'm home and very swollen. But so happy I opted for a doctor who insists on an overnight stay in the hospital. The anesthesia made me very ill and nauseous and being in a hospital they were able to give me ivf to combat it. I'm more swollen today than I was just after surgery but the pain is not unbearable. This picture is from today, I'll post one from my postop pics.

Hold tight there lovely lady and keep on icing and popping the pain pills.
This is the hardest part of the hardest week as you get your swell on.
Hopefully that nausea subsides (I'm lucky that I didn't have a general, just twilight and sang through my op at times, literally!).
Best tip I can give you for this stage of recovery is have everything you need within easy reach and avoid the mirrors. You'll look nothing like this ever again, but a whole lot better in a few days.
I'm going to look at my profile and remind myself of how swollen and sausage faced I felt...

I did find myself laughing at myself in the mirror and muttering "what doooo you look like?!"
Also try not to freak if you look a bit alien, that just a phase...
