I had bad acne as a teenager and eventually my mother let me use roaccutane which cleared my acne up like a miracle; however the damage was already done and I had the acne scars to show it. When i was 21 I had started with skin treatments, I went in pretty uneducated thinking that microderm and peels might help lessen my scarring and I do think they improved my skin's overall smoothness, brightness and texture but as for my scarring they didn't really do every much at all.
When I was 26 I decided to give dermapen ago I bought 3 sessions to be used over 3mths, with 3 LED light and peels to be used 2 weeks after each dermapen. I had brought in all my current skin care products and asked to use only neutral ph skin care, which meant I ended up purchasing an extra $120 of serums, creams and gels.
The first session was scary but because they used numbing cream on my face 20 min before the Dermapen I didn't feel a thing, I asked my beautician to put it on the highest setting on my cheeks. After my first session the girl doing my treatment insisted I need a Post Inflammation Hydration Serum which I needed to put on after my dermapen for 3 to 5 days but then we both forgot to sell it to me. When I go home my face felt so tight and uncomfortable, borderline painful but didn't know if I was allowed to wet it and put normal moisturizer on it. After hours of umming and ahhhing I had a shower and rinsed it with just water and applied moisturizer, it was like heaven, the moisturizer kept getting absorbed very quickly and I had to keep reapplying. After the first dermapen I broke out, and had little under the surface acne, which thankfully went away, I felt like after the first dermapen session my pores were more refined but my scarring was not any better.

Provider Review
Samantha
Sam was good overall, she is the only person at the clinic who was currently trained in using the dermapen, I which she had discussed the post care with me a little more and what to expect because it was not great coming home feeling helpless.
