Recovery has been a longer road than I expected. I was hoping to be back to exercising right after the first month. Instead I'm planning to get to my first Zumba class since surgery tomorrow.
My doctor has been great. He's seen me almost every week for the past month. He was able to drain my seroma once. It's come back over the past week but it's a small one. He told me that I have no restrictions anymore as far as lifting and exercising. I just need to listen to my body.
Hoping to be feeling much better by this time next week.

I know I will be happy I did this in about 4 months.
I have realized what this all feels like. It's like a couple years ago when we remodeled our house. Living here during that transition time was so hard, everything seemed in limbo. But once it was finished I loved it! This is the same thing. I'm remodeling my body. The discomfort and swelling will be temporary. In about 4 more months I will love it!

Dr Hummel has been awesome. On the day of surgery he put me at ease with his sense of humor. He listened to my concerns, I'm a pain wimp. He told me that he thinks I'll be very happy with the results and he wouldn't do it if he didn't think I'd love it. My follow up visit is scheduled for tomorrow so I can update more then.
