I am determined- DETERMINED- to get rid of my double chin. I tried 6 sessions of vazor with no appreciable difference, 2 kybella treatments with no difference at all and now cool sculpting.
Briefly,as an aside, I have to mention that I have been poked, prodded, waxed, plucked, botoxed, filled, and lipoed. And I have to say kybella is far and away the most painful treatment I've experienced. People ask what it feels like. It feels like someone gave you sixty shots in the throat! It hurts for hours afterwards. If I though it was making a difference I would suffer through it but I see absolutely no difference.
The dermatologist who performed the kybella understood my frustration and and agreed to do coolsculpting for $650 per treatment instead of the usual $750. I'm giving it a try. She attached the device to my throat. It feels like it is suctioned to the bottom of the chin. It's not pleasant but I knew I could make it. Then they turn on the "freezer" portion of the device. It's very cold but livable. You have to sit there without moving much for 45 minutes. I slept. I woke up about five minutes before it was over. I was pretty uncomfortable. The nurse came in, turned off the machine, and started to massage my neck. In the beginning it was very numb and didn't bother me. After about two minutes of massage I noticed it was getting tender. The 30 seconds or so of the massage was so painful I almost screamed. She said she had to break up the fat crystals so I would get a good result. After the 30 seconds of awful it was over. I got dressed and rubbed lotion into my neck with no pain. I was back to my desk 15 minutes later, working without issue. It was pretty red but I could cover it with a scarf. The red was completely gone by the next time I checked which was probably about two hours later. When I'm not touching my neck it doesn't hurt at all. It's been about 10 hours. If I touch it it's tender. Maybe a 2 on the tenderness scale from 1 to 10.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I really really hope this is it. I'm so tired of having treatments!
