6 weeks post op - looking better each week

I'm six weeks post op now and still have some bruising, size asymmetry and funky looking nipples, but week by week the look of my my breasts is continuously improving. I don't really have any pain unless I press or bump them on something. I still have never experienced the "zingers" that everyone refers to. I have feeling in my nipple, but not my areola. I did not have any feeling in my left nipple for about 3 weeks after surgery, so hopefully it will continue to improve. I also still have a little open spot right under the left areola. My last appointment with the PS was at 4 weeks and she said I still had swelling in the right and it would be a couple more weeks before it subsides. I'm really hoping they will end up the same size after the swelling. Another thing I have started to notice is that they have dropped quite a bit. I am actually kind of sad about that; I liked having "pornstar boobs" that defy gravity! I sure hope they don't drop much further.

I am curious as to why more BR patients do not have a vertical/lollipop scar breast reduction surgery?

5 weeks post op and able to exercise again!

I was thrilled last week when I got released to full activity nearly 2 weeks earlier than I had anticipated. I worked out twice and wore a regular sleep or wear around the house type compression sports bra with my Enell high impact bra over top. I didn't want anything bouncing around. Everything went great and no problems with my boobs. I just didn't realize how much endurance and strength you can loose in just a month. I thought I was going to pike by the end of my workout class!

My breasts are healing great. Still tender in some places and the incisions are healing very nicely except one little spot just below my left nipple. Doc said it's fine and just give it a couple of weeks. I've been using a silicone and vitamin e product for my scars. It's like clear bail polish, it dries almost instantly.

I had a breast reduction on August 21st and though...

I had a breast reduction on August 21st and though I was nervous, I couldn't wait to have the surgery. I went home the same day and my pain has been up and down, but very manageable with the pain meds or Tylenol. I saw my new chest for the first time 3 days after surgery and was taken aback by the asymmetry. I tried telling myself it was only swelling, but I think it is quite obvious that something isn't right. My right breast is 2 times the size of the left, as is the areola. The left breast is softer, the right is harder and the skin is much tighter. I feel as though I got a reduction on the left and a lift (with no reduction) on the right. It is very discouraging to think I have gone through all the pain, am missing weeks of work and am paying around $3500 out of pocket, only to be disfigured. I just can't believe this is happening to me. I live in Cin, Oh and my Doc was recognized as a "Top Doc" in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for 2014, plus my friend had a BR performed by her this past Spring that she is satisfied with. I go back for my 2 week post op on Wednesday. Has anyone else experienced a size discrepancy this large that resolved itself after the swelling was gone? I apologize my breasts are so crazy looking; I have steri strips on and then some kind of glue over top, so fuzz and everything else sticks to them. Any advice or experience?

She came highly recommended by my close friend who had BR surgery. I confirmed thru a little internet stalking that she has great credentials. I met her at my initial consultation and though she can come across as being "hands off" and kind of cold, she certainly proved herself to be very knowledge and competent in her patient interactions. My gyno and his NP both recognized her name said that she is a great surgeon. My follow up appointments are typically only about 15 mins, but she always makes sure I get my questions answered. I should also Probably add that I once called the office on a Holiday weekend and the Doc was able to get back to me in under an hour. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in the greater Cincinnati area looking for BL, BR surgery or any other plastic surgery. I think I should also mention how professional her office staff are. They were able to get me a first consult apt within a few weeks and they took care of submitting all necessary paperwork to insurance for approval. It took exactly one week for Humana to approve my request.
