Been a month now. Definitely prefer my side profile now. No more protruding chin and it doesn’t move forward when I smile now so I am happy. Just now have to get used to what I look like now when I catch my profile. Bone bump complication on my left is less noticeable, others can not see it unless they study my jaw line or I show it to them. Will see how the bone remodelling gets on in the next few months. Surgeon said bone and chin will still change over the next weeks. Still some residual swelling in chin. Am great full I have full sensation in lips and chin. Still to tingly to touch. I did this surgery for myself so hope I learn to love it.

Saw my surgeon yesterday. He explained he had slight difficulty when placing the chin back on the left, due to my previous double jaw surgery in 2013. That is why there is some bone protrusion. He added it too could be a callus what happens to area of the bone that is broken which is cartilage which is resorbed and replaced by bone tissue when healing. It has gone down somewhat. He said give it up to 6 months. If the bone has not remodelled itself and I am not happy with it he would burr it down.
My chin area is still puffy, heavy and hardish so still quite some swelling to come down. My chin was so prominent horizontally before any change I am happy with. Front profile is a little odd but that is due to swelling. Only 1 stitch left in my gum. Lower teeth still slightly sensitive so still keeping to soft foods for now.

Hi! I had this surgery as well 20 days ago. I am curious about the results as I start to see the progress! Do you feel still very swollen? My chin feels very big and bulky
Who was your doctor?
Hi. Tomorrow it will be 4 weeks. I can say that in the last week the swelling has come down loads. I was too worried around the 3 week stage as chin appeared still very boxy/swollen but has come down quite small now into a v shape. Still some tightness below the lower lip area. I would say around 15/20% of swelling left. Everyone heals differently just got to give it time.
It looks great in the final photo. May I ask who performed the surgery? I'd like to reduce my "witch chin".

I'm in London and would like the same surgery. How much did this cost you?

day 12
still have some swelling on chin as feels right and puffy and wide. Bone edge I am concerned about appears to be reducing slightly. Nerves going a little crazy at times throughout the day but great full I have not lost any sensation in chin and lower lip.
