It's been a long journey but I can't be anymore happier!! I feel like all the swelling is finally gone and my face seems so much more balanced. Genioplasty definitely takes a lot of patience, but I’m happy I got through with it.

you look fabulous- thank you for the update!
thank you :)
looking great! I'm considering it but scared about recovery and numbness. Did you have any residual lip / chin/teeth numbness?

Day 3 - Swelling peaked around day 2/3, my neck and jaw was huge and I had a blockhead for more than a week
Day 7 - 1 week post-op, had my first check-in appointment with my surgeon
Day 14 - 2 week post-op, this was when I started to see more of the results. I was back at work at this point. While I thought my face was still very noticeably different, not many people commented/didn't see anything too different!
Day 42 - Around 1 month 1/2 post-op, my jawline was much more noticeable and sharper. My smile still felt a little tight, but this starts to subside slowly day by day.

Very helpful! Thank you. I just got mine done 3 days ago and I def look like a block head. Just remembering to stay patient
Patience is key for sure! it's been 10months since my surgery now and I feel like I look better than my last update (post 3 months)!
Thank you for your detailed review. How much does this surgery cost? Is there something covered by OHIP?
It's not covered by OHIP, I believe the actual genioplasty only cost about 2600 + consultation/check up fees which end up being like ~3000 (which is an amazing price compared to plastic surgeons and I think waaay better since these doctors specialize in this)
Thank you for posting this review. I wanted to do this but its looking like we will be going to back to "in office" work soon so now I don't know if I will be able too. Do you remember about how long you had noticeable swelling?
I actually went back to work 10 days after my surgery. I was SO swollen but I was surprised most people couldn't even tell haha. It just shows how much more aware you are of your face than others. But IMO I'd say "noticeable" swelling is about a month but looking back my swelling went down even more gradually after that and around the 3 month mark is where you see more of the final results.
Oh thank you so much. I had it done last friday so today is exactly 7 days ago. The big ‘soft tissue’ swelling in my face is slidely gone but my chin and ‘double’ chin are so blocked and hard I almost regret that I did it.. im starting a new job in 4 days so I hope it will be better by then. Reading your review makes me more at ease but I’m still stressing now. Also have the feeling like I have a small ‘bubble’ sticking out on the right side of my skin, like a very stiff swelling but I hope everything will be fine soon. I’m probably panicking since it’s my first surgery ever.
