My Experience with BK Hospital Seoul

Before deciding which clinic to choose. I have emailed quite a few clinics. And I shortlisted 3 clinics. Visited them on my first day of arrival. I finally decided to choose BK Hospital.

They have a building itself and the consultants are fluent in English and Chinese. I can communicate smoothly with them in kakao till i safely reached the hospital (yeah! i lost my way taking train) thou their building is just right outside of the train station.

I am doing chin advancement and fats grafting to my full face. This is because i think i dont look good with my receding chin and it has been years i have noticing it and its bothering me! Sad to say at my age, aging is my biggest problem. So hoping fats grafting will improve it and I dont look like I have saggy skin.

Okay! I have fixed my appointment with BK and looking forward to meet Dr Kim for the surgery.

Fasted for 8 hours and arrived at BK hospital level 2. Welcomed by my consultant and her team. My consultant is a caucasian that studied and working in seoul so speaking English is not an issue at all.

Took down my particulars > areas that I am interested in improving > Met Dr Kim in his room. This is the second time i have seen him and I find he is getting more professional and we chatted more than previous. This time round i felt we can communicate more and he is more friendlier.

I am sure he is not a plastic surgeon that only want to earn patient's money. He told me based on his professional experience, i dont need any ptosis eyes surgery. Maybe when i get older? Even thou i insisted, he mentioned i wont have much difference. Finally, i agreed with him.

Then i went to take CT scan, blood test, ECG and preparation for my surgery. My consultant was all the way with me without leaving me alone. Good job!

I was told that I am under GA so I will be put to sleep fully. My last memory was in the operation theatre. Will update when I am out of the operation and more awake.

Today is my first post op treatment with the nurse. My consultant was punctual and patiently waiting for me at the treatment room. It was a quick one and some cleaning of wound done. Bandage was not removed yet and I was to continue to wear the facial band.

For the last 3 days, I didnt experience much pain and I dont even have much swell on my face. I was so terrified that my face has become "pig head" but luckily I didnt manage to go thru that stage. Not sure if the minor swelling depends on Dr Kim's good skill or my own body system but I am SO relieved that my face has the minimum swell that allow me to move around on the 3rd day already.

Back to immediately after post op, I was being transferred to their patient's resting room with nurses there to take care of us till we wake up or better. I remembered the nurse called for my consultant the moment I woke up so that someone that we can communicate well is there for us anytime. I was impressed by this service, no worries even you dont speak korean.

After I was more awake from the sedation, the consultant accompanied me back to the guest's room that BK provided free in house. This is another service I chose them. For a budget patient like me, having free accommodation is so important. It helps me to save on lodging and have more allowance for other misc expenses during my trip.

Because the free accommodation is within the hospital, it brings patients much convenience for their post op treatments and reviews.
