Still healing but seeing results!

WORTH IT
My chin still feels tight, so I know I’m still healing even months after, but very happy with the outcome so far.

Hi, you look great! The "V" shape you have is beautiful! I want that. However, I just had a chin implant and it looks wide and weird. How painful is a sliding genioplasty? When do you feel fine, 3 days later? I really hope you respond, take care
Thank you so much! I'd say wait it out and give it another month or two. When they say it takes time for swelling to go down, they're not kidding. I can't speak to sliding genioplasty however... I mainly addressed asymmetry, so had my chin shaved down on one side and a little bit on the other to even it out. Recovery was very easy other than the bruising which made it look worse than it was + the tightness/swelling around the suture as it healed.
Also, I went in for a post op follow up around 5-6 weeks after and even then, the doctor said I still had swelling!
Did you experience any chin sagging afterwards? I noticed some people who have their chin shaved have some sagging or dimpled skin.
Why did the Dr. go for chin shaving vs SG? I have an asymmetric chin as well and I'm trying to figure out what's best. I have an appointment with him in Feb.
I second this question.
Hey! You look awesome, definitely worth it. I have a very similar bone structure with you and want to get my chin shaved. Did you also get a jaw reduction or is it only about chin? I really appreciate your response cause I'm desperately trying to figure out if jaw reduction is a must to get that smooth face contour. Thank you and please keep us updated! (Also, is it sliding genioplasty, do you have any changes on side profile?)

Soreness level is still maybe a 1/10 - I’m definitely not normal, but I also don’t notice it.
Sutures are still inflamed and it still feels like there’s food lodged in my bottom lip.
Bruise is significantly better from my update a week ago. It’s been much easier to cover up with makeup this weekend. I could be imagining things, but I also started working out again yesterday and I could swear the activity helped it.
Swelling has decreased a lot but it’s still there. Doc said this could take up to a month if not a couple months before I see final results!

Is it symmetrical yet? Are you happy thus far? Did he do what was discussed+ agreed to during your consult ?
Would love to see how your results are coming along!

Confident and reassuring doctor

I first came to know of Dr. Wittenberg when I worked at a local dental office - even back then, he had an outstanding industry reputation as one of the best oral & maxillofacial surgeons out there. He did my wisdom tooth surgery over a decade ago, but more recently I went to him for chin contouring.

A total vanity-driven procedure on my part, but still, it's my face we're talking about. I wanted someone who knows every aspect of the facial bones, contours, nerves and everything, but more importantly, I wanted an artist. That's him. I was admittedly apprehensive saying yes, particularly because there was no tangible plan of action that I could rely on – no renderings, or anything to assure me of the outcome – just a pure leap of faith that you're in good hands and that he knows what he's doing.

Thankfully, he takes the time to listen, and he is soft-spoken, personable, calm, confident and reassuring. It was all I needed to feel confident as well. So far, recovery has been exactly as he said it would be: easy. The results are slowly peeking through and overall, I'm very satisfied about the investment. Thank you doc.
