2 weeks

Lots of lumps and bumps. The sensation is slowly coming back. I have a little red spot where the incision was made under my chin. Overall I am happy with the results. My PS says the lumps will get better and it is still swollen so I’m still waiting to see the final results. Overall I’m happy I did it and have no regrets. My friend even took a profile picture of me and I was so worried but I actually looked like a normal person in the photo.

Day 8

I had my one week post op with my PS. He said everything is looking good and there is still swelling that will go down. Today was my first day not wearing the compression garment and I definitely noticed more swelling. Definitely feels worse today. I asked about exercise and he wants me to wait another week. I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed regular exercise in my life! I am back to work tomorrow and nervous about people’s reactions. I only told one of my coworkers why I took the week off. Well we will see how it goes. I will put up some more picture soon.

Day 6

My recovery is going well. No pain at this point. I’m tired of the chin strap, it is most bothersome on my ears and I have been tucking a folded sock in the strap above my ears to relieve some of the pressure. I took some updated progress photos today and I am so happy with the results! Some might look at the photos and say that it’s not a chiseled jaw line but if the results stay like this I will be thrilled! I went into this knowing I wouldn’t come out looking like Angelina Jolie. The sutures are dissolvable but are quite annoying and itchy. I have been putting Vaseline on the incision sites to help healing and reduce scarring. I still have some of the markings on my neck and hope I can get them off before I go back to work on Tuesday. I can’t wait to update after I get the chin strap off full time!
