Beyond thrilled with my experience!

Double chins run in my family, and I was a chunky kid growing up, so I never had a standing chance of a solid chin. I decided for a Christmas gift to myself this year I would try the Smart Lipo procedure. My confidence was extremely low, and my boyfriend was tired of seeing me make faces in the mirror. I am 5’5 and 130lbs, but I felt fat! No amount of bronzer made me look like I had a chin! Thankfully I had the support of my friends and family, and I am so so happy I went for it.
The coolest part about the idea was that lipo takes the fat cells out of your body. So I viewed this as an investment in future-me. I didn’t want to end up with a sagging chin at 35.
The doctor worried me a bit in pre-op. I don’t think he was used to seeing “thin” people get lipo. He told me he wasn’t sure he would be able to do much and I was shocked. Didn’t he see what I was seeing? This needed to be taken care of ASAP!
The procedure itself was easy. I got a Xanax, antibiotic, nausea pill, and a pain pill. I felt very calm by the time they took me back, the numbing shot was by far the worst part, it felt like fire being injected into my face. A few tears came out and I was shaking like a leaf, but by the time the doctor was doing the laser and vacuuming bit I was totally numb and laughing in the chair at the super weird suction noises. I wasn’t nervous or in pain at all.
Day 2 is when the pain started, but the pain pills made it very manageable, I would give it about a 3 out of 10. I felt very energetic and if I didn’t have a huge binder on my face I would have been out and about getting work and errands done.
The before and after picture is 2 days before my procedure, and 24 hours after my procedure. I feel like I look 20lbs lighter. I was shocked at the low amount of bruising and swelling. Taking arnica tablets and eating a veggie based diet certainly helped my body heal quickly.
I would recommend this procedure to anyone who struggles with self confidence. I feel like a new me, and am excited to feel beautiful without gobs of makeup!!
