Submental Liposuction

ORIGINAL POST

Submental Liposuction

WORTH IT$3,300
I have always had a double chin for as long as I can remember. Thanks genetics! After debating a long time on if I should go through with the procedure I made an appointment with a plastic surgeon in my area. He was wonderful and took the time to discuss the procedure, my concerns, and what my overall goals were. He had his nurse take before pictures and then I talked to his scheduler. I was still not sold on getting it done even though I have always been insecure about this area, so I decided to schedule another appointment with the surgeon. He took more time to discuss what I wanted to achieve and how we will go about doing it. I felt very comfortable with him and decided to book my appointment. Today I am post op day 2 and feel great. I got to see the area for a brief moment today and so far, am extremely happy. I am in a head wrap until my post op visit which will be a total of one week. Then my doctor said I will have to wear it at night for another 2 weeks. It isn’t as uncomfortable as I thought. Overall, I am so far happy with my results. I will continue to post updates as the days/weeks go by and I continue to heal.
My procedure was done under general anesthesia. He removed a total of 75ml of fat through Vaser liposuction. 3 small incisions were made 1 behind both ears and one under my chin. This was done to help contour my jawline as well as evenly remove fat.

Thank you for sharing your experience so far. Looking forward to your updates!

Hi there, how was your recovery? Were you very sore?
Hi. I am actually still recovering. I am now one week into recovery. I still have some swelling. I didn't bruise much at all just some slight yellowing of the neck. It is sore to the touch but other than that not much pain at all. I would rate my pain a 3/10 at the worse. My provider gave me Tylenol #3 for pain but I only took it once but felt I really did not need it. I Just had my first follow up with my doctor and he thinks everything looks great and tells me I will have even more contour in the next few weeks as the swelling goes down.
Hi again! I got my chin liposuction journey around the same time a you and am going into my third week post op. I was thrilled with my results a day after but recently have been noticing it coming back a little and it's not as perfect as it was on day 2. Maybe I'm swollen? I was wondering if you're experiencing a similar situation or if yours is swelling at all, or if it's just as good as the day after surgery?
I am still swollen a little and yes its not as good as the day after but it is still looking so good. I notice more swelling at different parts of the day. I am still sore so I assume it will continue to get better as I heal.
I've always had 1 too, even when I weighed 105 pounds. Now that I'm bigger my chin is even bigger and I can't take it! Lol. Was it definitely worth it? Did u research other treatments? How much was the lipo?
I did research Kybella and actually tried a treatment. I was so swollen after and noticed zero changes. I thought it actually got worse after the kybella treatment. I knew going into it I would need more than one treatment but when I went to see my doctor he actually told me I shouldn't waste my money on kybella because for my double chin it would require liposuction and would actually be cheaper than the amount of kybella treatments I would need. I looked into a few different doctors and after meeting my doc I felt comfortable and confident with his skills. It was worth it! I wish I did it sooner. I love my results and I am still a little sore when i touch the area so I think it will continue to improve over the next month or so. I ended up paying a total of $3300. If you are thinking about it and have always wanted it I say go see a doctor and talk about what you want to see happen. Good luck
Thank you so much! I'm definitely going to research a dr to go forward with the lipo.
I would say do not do cool sculpting or kybella such a waste of money!
