Consultation:
I went in for an in-person consultation to confirm if I wanted to get the surgery or not, as I was staying in Korea for a longer period of time. My consultation was a very positive experience and convinced me to get the liposuction, as the clinic was very clean and professional-looking, the translator they provided was very thorough, and the Korean doctor conducted a good analysis of my face. I was particularly happy that they looked into how to also improve my facial symmetry with the liposuction, and I overall felt that they took my concerns seriously, were experienced in how to make someone look beautiful, and didn't try to push me to get unnecessary additional procedures. By the way, they also offer online consultation if you are from abroad, like me and can only be in Korea for a short time.
2. Surgery
The surgery itself also went very smoothly. The translator helped me calm down a little as I was very nervous, and they provide you with PJ`s to be comfortable during the surgery and take “before” pictures. Additionally, the anesthetic took effect very quickly, and I wasn't in any pain as I woke up. After the procedure, they also provided a sleeping area where I could lay down in a heated bed until I felt ready to leave. After the surgery, I navigated a 1.5-hour metro ride by myself, so you will for sure be fine to go back to your hotel in Seoul.
3. Recovery
For recovery, I wasn't allowed to shower for three days, and after that, I still couldn't get the surgical area under my chin wet for a week, so washing my hair was rough. Other than that, I had to wear a compression garment for 24 hours for a week and gradually less afterward. Honestly, if I had to give one critique, they should switch the compression garment, as it really hurt—actually more than the surgery itself basically (it really hurt my ears, but I might just be sensitive). So as you can tell from that, pain was really manageable, and they also provided me with painkillers and antibiotics, which allowed me to go back to eating immediately after the surgery. But you will not be able to open your mouth very wide in the beginning, and softer food is preferable for maybe around two weeks. As for going back into the public, for the initial week, you can cover up the compression garment pretty well with a hat and a mask; after two weeks, you will be fine going out, and after three weeks, people in my case were not really able to tell I got the surgery done.
Results:
As for my results and overall thoughts, I feel prettier than before and don't regret getting the surgery; you can definitely see a difference, and it was cheaper and more professional than in my country. The surgery undoubtedly boosted my confidence, but if I am completely satisfied with the results, I think I will only be able to tell at the tree month mark, so I might update this. But for my overall thoughts, I would really recommend Girin, as they are very advanced in their technique, good at figuring out what suits your face, and so far I feel a lot better about myself than before the surgery.
