Chin/Neck Lipo with Dr. Lee

4.5 week update

I saw the surgeon last week who said I am healing slowly. He also recommended simply wrapping an ace wrap around my head to compress the skin under my chin because compression garments weren’t helping much. The firmness below my jawline is beginning to soften and my neck continues to shape shift. I have random banding & lumps that come and go. You can definitely see the laxity in my skin now that things have begun to soften. I’m hoping the skin tightened quickly. The skin on my neck has contracted much more quickly than the jawline/chin. There is still asymmetry between the left & right side that is prominent when I smile. Next check in is in 9 days. Hoping we can explain the asymmetry.

Your results are looking amazing! I am 13 days post-op and it's been such a roller coaster with my swelling. Some days I love the results and other days I feel no difference. I wore my compression garment for 12 days straight 24/7 but after having to return to work yesterday I noticed increased swelling. Did your surgeon recommend ace wraps so you can have a tighter compress?
Yes, my surgeon said the regular garment wasn’t applying enough pressure just under my chin. I found extra grip tape at Walgreens that works really well. I’ll try to post another update today too

3 week update

It’s officially been 3 weeks, so time for an update. I’m still wearing my compression garment on & off. I find myself taking it off in my sleep, so I try to wear it as much as possible during the day now. I’m healing asymmetrically & it’s driving me insane. I’m pretty sure edema set in more on my left side because when I smile that side looks extremely round & the right side looks more contoured. The lower part of my neck has softened, but directly under my jawline is still hard. The numbness is starting to wear off & my skin seems a bit more sensitive to touch. Wearing a face mask causes a sensation that feels similar to how skin feels raw after wearing a wet swimsuit for an extended period of time. My lip still doesn’t fully pull down when I smile or open my mouth. It looks better, but I tend to bite my lip a bit when I eat because it gets in the way when I open. I notice when I smile hard that I have a significantly deep crease leading from my dimple on the left. I’m hoping this changes as the left cheek swelling subsides. The unevenness is really stressing me out, but I continue to try to have faith in the process since I have no choice but to wait it out. The fat transfer is still swollen & when I’m on my feet at work I find it swells so much that I cannot close my mouth comfortably. Still feeling unsure & still stuck on this rollercoaster ride of emotions during healing

Garment frustration

The new garment arrived yesterday. I wore it for a couple hours to test drive it prior to sleeping & it seemed a little too tight. I had a tiny little roll when I took it off so I decided to throw on my old garment for night time. I woke up this morning with a large roll/crease on the right side instead. At this point, the garment is just frustrating me & I have no clue how to stop/prevent the rolls. I have a contour band from a breast augmentation that I slipped on to try to even out the fold as I’ve done before. I worry that I see more swelling now than previously & these creases are affecting my results.
