Virtual Consultation

Virtual Consultation

Wasted my money on virtual consultation with him. The whole conversation he didn't see my face. I didn't know how to turn my camera on. Not his fault but that alone made me uncomfortable already. He answered everything i asked. He offered imaging. However the the new chin looks exaggerated from the side view and 3/4 view. I guess i wanted something more conservative. He could have offered to correct it or something... Maybe coming in in person would possibly be more productive. First time is always a learning lesson.

Wow, hold on - so you couldn’t figure out how to turn on your own camera and you just didn’t like the look of the morph, and even though he answered all your questions and you never mentioned anything negative about his attitude or professionalism, you’re giving him a bad consultation review? Obviously you’re going to have to pay, he still blocked time out of his day and business to consult with you and it’s your fault (not his) that you could not figure out your own camera. Did you at least tell him you want a much more natural result and ask him first if it’s possible and second to make you a new morph? Came here looking for helpful reviews, but things like this makes me wonder if there’s still common sense out there.
It was a $200 consultation wasn't free. You sound like he sacrificed 15 minutes to talk to me. He didn't see my face during the consultation the next time i see him I'd on the stretcher cutting me. Understand?
Actually no, because plenty of surgeons do more than one video consultation once you have chosen to go with them and other times even if you simply have follow up questions and request another consult. Otherwise, it seems you sent him photos (since you got imaging back), which honestly, plenty of other surgeons also operate on photos only (video isn’t really that much more reliable) until they can see you in person for your pre-op consult. This is a business and it’s this man’s job, spending time with you means someone else who wanted a consultation got bumped to a later time, or he could have been doing a myriad of other things like I don’t know, running his business? Again, it’s not his fault you couldn’t figure out how to operate a camera - why should he be penalized for it? Sometimes you just need to take responsibility for your own misgivings...
Why would you rate someone poorly because you don't know how to operate a camera in 2021?
Even if he had seen your face on camera and even he had spent an hour or two with you, that assessment approach is flawed.

Are you doing custom or the should-be-illegal standard off-the-shelf implants?

Cheek, chin, and jaw angle implants are rarely done right. Most have second or third revisions, and I've yet to see one completely happy patient with off-the-shelf implants.

Patients are happy the first year because they like the effect of a bigger chin, cheek, or jaw, but soon they realize all the problems.

Custom implants are extremely expensive, and what most doctors call "custom" these days are in fact CUSTOM FIT only.

Please be careful. I am not saying that your surgery is dangerous or that doctors aren't good; I am saying that even they don't have a good way of helping you the way you think it all works.
