Chin Implant Revision

WORTH IT
I figured I would add a photo from the front where it didn’t look like it was a mug shot lol. Also I wanted to point out the sides of my chin. One of my main goals was to properly balanced my lower face with the rest of my face. I felt like before my chin came to such a point And was so small it didn’t look like it matched the rest of my face. You can see in the photo, I feel like it was filled out nicely with the extended implant. But not so much so where it widen my chin too much to make it look masculine. Again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I’m definitely happy with my results and it’s exactly what I wanted from the get go. I feel like I’m pretty much healed, I don’t have any numbness anymore. I feel comfortable placing and resting my hands on my face and chin without any discomfort.

You look amazing. Would never guess anything has been done if I saw you on the street. Thanks for sharing.
Hi there, thanks for your posts. I am in Canada and looking into this. Did your Doctor say anything about possibility of the screwed in implant still moving? I ski a lot and worry about what happens if I land on my face...haha. also, what is the material of the implant? Thanks again
I honestly don’t think that it would be possible for it to move if it’s screwed in. My doctor didn’t say anything specifically about the possibility, but definitely screws all of his implants in and prefers this method. And you have to remember after it heals, your body is going form a capsule of scar tissue around it which will also keep it in place. It’s another reason why you might actually lose a little projection because your body encapsulates it so tightly. Unless you’re a professional athlete that gets hit in the face repeatedly I wouldn’t worry too much about it lol. But definitely take it easy for the first 12 weeks to be safe.

My implant is made out of silicone. Most surgeons prefer silicone. It was important for me to have something that was easy to remove god forbid I was unhappy. They make porous types of implants that almost become one with your body when it heals and they are very difficult to remove.
Can we have dinner and talk about it?
Talk about what? Lol
A couple of questions. 1) How long would you say it took for most swelling to go down? You think it is fully gone now? 2) Does the implant feel like bone to touch?
I would say the worst of swelling took 3/4 weeks to subside. Every time I would think that the swelling was completely gone, I would look back in pics and realize that I was still a little swollen. I would say at the 12 week mark the swelling is pretty much gone but my chin has gone down a tiny bit since 12 weeks. My surgeon gave me arnica pills this time around and I swear it helped, but it could have been in my head lol.

My chin is just now starting to officially feel like a part of me. For a while I accepting that it would always feel weird and foreign but that has subsided in the last month in a half. It was very uncomfortable to touch even after 12 weeks. Party because of the nerves healing. I didn’t feel numb after 12 weeks but if I rubbed or touched my chin it would give it that weird tingling numb feeling. All of that is completely gone now. Unless I get bumped in the chin, then it tingles for a bit lol. I was explaining this to a previous question but with my old implant, it was placed too low. So when I would try to rest my hand under my chin it was painful and uncomfortable because I was pressing against the implant not my bone. This implant was placed just a hair above my actual bone so when I place my hand under my chin I’m on my real bone.
Thank you very much for the detailed answer. Enjoy your new look!
Thank you for your review.
I am really considering making an appointment for a consult. I live in Texas, so it would have to be an online consult.
I had jaw surgery to correct my bite underbite. Well, let’s just say the surgeon moved my lower jaw back way too much and now I look like I lost half of my face. I don’t feel like I look like myself.
I’ve done some research and I like Dr. Eppleys reviews and work.

Do you mind commenting on the price?

That’s the only thing that is stopping me from making an appointment, I don’t even know what I’m getting myself into.

How long did the whole process take? From first consultation to surgery day?
I sent you a dm

This will probably be my last review for a while. Everything is still going really well. My chin has slimmed down even more. I pretty much have all the feeling back. Overall I’m extremely happy with my revision.

Your face looks great!
Looks really good
Beautiful!!
Wow! You’re incredibly beautiful.
I really love your chin!!!! You look so pretty... :)
Do you have an updates??? Did.you have to sleep a lot of weeks on your back? And what about the use of the strap around your face? Thanksss!!!
Thank you! With my first surgery I did wear a chin/neck wrap but that was only due to the lipo. With this revision I didn’t wear a strap. Honestly it’s not really necessary in my opinion. It may help with swelling but it’s minimal at best. But I was weirdly paranoid about anything possibly moving the implant before it heal So I didn’t want a strap, even though my implant is screwed in lol. I’m not going to lie I did sleep on my back for a long time. At first it was just to help the swelling, I slept elevated on my back. But I’m a side sleeper and I’m just now feeling comfortable to sleep on my side against a pillow, usually with my hands tucked under my chin. I can’t really explain it but it took a while for my implant not to feel foreign or odd when something is against it. But it pretty much feels normal now. I will say with my first implant because it was too low I could never rest my hand under my chin because it was against the implant and not my actual bone. With this new one, it’s placed just above my bone a tiny bit so when I place my hand under my chin I’m touching my actual bone, if that makes sense.
Hi!!! Thanks for your response!
Im a little bit afraid cause I will have lip lift, neck lipo and chin implant the same day... so I believe that for sure be using the strap and sleeping over my back will be a challenge Im a side sleeper too hahaha by the way... do you.remember if your Doctor mentioned something about if its better with a screw than without?? And laaaast question hahah about the type of implant that you have, do you know if your Dr. customized or carved the extra small mandibular glove implant?
Luckily for me the mandibular glove xs implant was the perfect size and shape for what I was looking for and didn’t need any customization. As far as the screws go I know that everyone has their own opinions. There are some doctors that swear you don’t need them there are some doctors that swear you do need them. I just feel like I’ve heard too many stories about an implant shifting, so I would want to go the extra mile to make sure that that couldn’t happen. Are you having your incision through your mouth or under your chin? I know that through the mouth tends to migrate a lot more than under your chin placement. I will say having gone through each, an implant with lipo and just an implant revision, pain wise the lipo probably hurt the worst so definitely prepare yourself for that. The chin implant revision by itself was a cakewalk compared. I don’t think I could eat solid foods for 3 to 4 weeks after Lipo. And please feel free to ask as many questions as you want. This is a very big deal and this is why am on this site to be able to try to help other people going to the same thing.

Things are still going really well. Still have some numbness but it’s getting better. The sides of my chin are starting to slim down more. Also random but no one really talks about your lips after an implant. Maybe it’s just me but it happened after my first implant as well. My lips would get noticeably thinner than normal after surgery and at first I freaked out but they plumped back up after a few weeks. I experienced it again this time around and noticed this past week that they are filling out again. Weird side effect I guess lol.
