Chin implant removal - my chin is still so much bigger than before

I had what I believe to be a medium sized medpor implant placed a few months ago. I knew right away that I had made mistake and decided that I wanted it removed after just 2 weeks. Unfortunately, my surgeon refused to touch it before it had been in place for three months - so I had to wait it out.
After the three months was up I still desperately wanted it out and I am now 3 weeks post op removal. I am so relieved that it is out!! However, my chin is still so much bigger than before and when I smile it becomes oddly square. My surgeon is (or at least was before the removal) almost a 100% sure that my chin will return to its old appearance, but I find it difficult to stay hopeful at the moment. If anyone has experience with the healing process after chin implant removal then I would love to hear more about.

To anyone considering a chin implant, please make sure that you are making the right decision and if you are just a little bit doubtful then please wait until you are completely sure! I definitely wish I had taken longer to consider it, I am very much regretting my decision.
