New Year New Chin, Neck & Profile

WORTH IT
Happy New Year!! I'm so happy the end of 2018 brought me the one thing I've wanted for the past 30 years...my new chin. Just having an actual chin has given me a neck and a profile I love. Even my cheekbones look higher (even though I didn't alter them in any way). Maybe chins are like eyebrows whereas they change the entire look of your face. I sure feel like my face has changed! I have a new sense of self confidence and finally I don't feel like I look 30 years older than I am because my face is sunken into my neck which is already hanging. If you're on the fence about this procedure, schedule a free consultation and talk with a Board Certified facial surgeon. I'm so glad I did! I'm still wearing this garment at night 7 weeks later although I'm cleared to stop. But, I don't think I'm ready. Maybe it's a security thing who knows. One thing I do know is how happy I am having had a chin implant. Wishing you all a wonderful 2019!

Have all of your issues of tightness, etc have gone away? I can not wait till my numbness and now tightness in my neck goes away.
January 4, 2019
I don't have any numbness but its still a little tight under my chin in the neck area! I can see one muscle band almost sticking out from the front it's so tight. I think I may have to get botox in that one band. I never thought my neck would be the most difficult part of this chin implant procedure. But I can tell with time things are smoothing out just still tight. Have you noticed the tightness worse at the end of the day?

Yes, the tightness and sharp pains that I still have in the chin and lip are much worse after dark. Strange??
January 4, 2019
Same thing happens with me. Tightness increases towards end of the day

I am still numb on chin -right side and super tight under chin by incision. Looks weird like an indention because swelling down on side but so swollen underneath. I am praying this all levels out
January 4, 2019
Things will even out, just takes lots of time and you could ask your doctor about steroid injections in the area to help swelling. I had to get 3 rounds of injections. I did not have to pay for this. Wearing the garment and massaging several times a day helped me as well. I'm still wearing mine at 7 weeks post op.

Omg I had no idea this update was you. You look AMAZING!! My implant is still tight and swelling is on and off. I can’t wait until mine is healed as is yours.
January 5, 2019
Thank you so much! My neck is still tight at times, but definitely improving. Are you still wearing the garment often?
January 5, 2019
Not really. It irritates my chin. I end up taking alleve to reduce swelling. If no improve soon this has got to come out.
January 5, 2019
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that it's bothering you that bad. I still have a piece of gauze that lays between my scar and the garment to make sure there's no irritation but it sounds like this may be different than what you're experiencing. Do you have any pain with the swelling?
January 6, 2019
Yeah if I don’t take pain pills I have pain. I’ll have it removed. It will be ok.
January 6, 2019
Wow, sounds like there may be an irritated nerve or something like that around the implant. What has your Dr said about the pain and what could be causing it?

At what day did all of our swelling finally go away? There is still some swelling around my implant on the right side and it is day 15 for me.
January 5, 2019
I think most of my swelling was gone by week 5. I truly believe the massaging with arnica gel and wearing my garment as often as possible really helped my results. You are still very early in the healing process at day 15. For me, patience was sooo hard. Hang in there and let your dr know about your swelling. They may suggest steroid shots to help with it. I know it really helped mine.

Thank you for the encouragement. I need some patience right now.
January 7, 2019
I think it’s a nerve because there is numbness right before the nerve. And I think something is wrong with the pocket in that area as well. So se think I am having a reaction to it and we are going to remove it next week.

How long has it been for you? Has it been numb the whole time?
January 7, 2019
Was yours numb the whole time. I am post 18. I had a little numbing after the procedure but on day 15 woke up and chin completely numb. Went to see dr today. He is thinking because I had to get some Basel cell taken off Friday that maybe that swelling caused that. - really doesn’t have an explanation? Hate you have to have yours removed. Is it numb and still swollen? Pain? What does your dr say
January 7, 2019
How did work go? Anyone notice? Do u still have swelling numbness today?
January 8, 2019
No one noticed at all. I haven't had much swelling since week 5 but I still have tightness mainly in the afternoon.
January 8, 2019
I'm so sorry to hear you have to get it removed. Wishing you a speedy recovery and back to feeling better soon.

Still waiting for the neck to smooth out. I know this process will take the longest and the most patience from me. But, I have a separate face and neck and a natural chin!!! No one (that didn't know I was having this procedure) has noticed! To me, its drastic lol. Since I elected not to have a face or neck lift, I have to wait it out for the skin to smooth out and tighten under my neck. Even If This Were to be my final results I realize it is 1000% better than what it was. I may get botox along my jawline it to help lift things. We'll see. For now, I'm so happy I did this and hope my posting can help anyone else going through this or considering this procedure. Today, I'm officially changing my review to "worth it".

You look great. I go today to have my stitches removed. I don’t think I will ever have a jawline, but at least I now have a chin. I am still really swollen and numb.
December 29, 2018
Thank you! Things will change daily as the swelling goes down. I know that feeling of being grateful for a chin :)

Your results are amazing!!! You look gorgeous.

6 weeks today. I love my chin and neck!!

mynewchin
My chin feels like it's always been there. No pain. No more teeth sensitivity. Smile is back 100%. I'm still wearing my garment at night but Dr says I can stop wearing it. I just like how it makes my neck so smooth the next morning AND smoothes out my face wrinkles (especially around eyes and forehead) because I'm not laying on it making it all smooshed lol!! I'm still waiting on my neck to smooth out and not be so tight. This part has been the longest part of my recovery. I've had 3 rounds of steroid shots under my chin to help with the healing and tightness. I massage the neck area several times a day with no change yet. Well, it changes everyday. I love having a separate chin and neck even with the tightness. I'm extremely happy with this decision :)

Great news!! I am 7 days post op- still bruises swelling and numbness(on right side). I am really tight under neck as well.
December 29, 2018
The neck tightness is the worst. Keep wearing the garment it will help!
December 28, 2018
I am 1 month PO and my regular smile has not returned. Swelling has reduced but there is still a little bit there. Great job. I should probably stay in my Faja
December 29, 2018
The garment really does help with the swelling! My dr says I can stop wearing mine, unless any swelling returns but I really need the help with my neck most of all.
December 29, 2018
My Dr too said after a week I could take the faja off but I think it’s needed for my swelling and to keep my mouth closed off from eating. Lol. So maybe I’ll put it back on. Lol. It takes about 3 months to heal from lipo and skin to fully retract.
December 29, 2018
I think the neck lipo is taking the longest to heal which I didn't expect. I figured it would be the chin swelling and healing that would take the longest but I guess not in my case.
