2 weeks post op - chin looking good, lipo is currently lumpy & not noticeable
$5,900
Hey everyone! Sorry for being quiet, the past week or so has just been slowly watching the swelling decrease. My jowls are no longer swollen from the chin implant and my face has returned to looking like my own. My neck, however, is still extremely tight, hard, and lumpy from the lipo. I read that this can take quite a while to settle, but a few days ago I was nervous since it almost seemed like I’d had a procedure to *add* a second chin!
Looking at my photos, I’m very happy with my chin implant. My surgeon didn’t give me a giant chin (biggest fear) and although it still look somewhat recessed, it looks & fits like ME. Natural, but enhancing. I can definitely see the difference especially at 3/4 angle.
Liposuction: It’s funny because the lipo results were actually more obvious the day after surgery. I’m guessing it’s due to swelling but my neck looks basically the same (at this point!!) REALLY hoping that this will continue to change over the next several weeks because I want that thin neck lmao!
Pain/general update: Definitely at the stage where there is zero pain at this point! I’m fully able to chew again and talk without a lisp. However, there are still some funky things going on with my lower facial nerves. My chin skin is extremely sensitive to touch and textures. Example: when I am cuddling up with my favorite fluffy blanket, the fluff of the blanket drives my nerves insane!!
Compression wrap: I should note that I have NOT worn my compression wrap whatsoever since 1 week post op. Some surgeons recommend you wear it for months/at night/etc but mine said I didn’t have to.

Day 5 - lots of pain but gasp....JAWLINE!
The pain is still INSANE. I can’t talk or open my mouth to eat. Took off my compression garment for a few minutes to take some pics and holy crap!!! I’m not seeing a major difference in my actual chin projection, but even with swelling, there is a clear jawline that didn’t exist before :)
I must have left the compression garment off for too long because my face immediately swelled all around my jaw/jowls so now I look like a manly Prince Charming from Shrek!!! Compression garment went back on and I’m deciding to deal with the pain through Tylenol since the gooooood painkillers were making me disastrously constipated!!
I really just want to be able to eat again....???? boyfriend brought home donuts and I couldn’t even eat a crumb lol!

Hi, I'm in almost exactly the same boat as you, 5 days post today, chin implant and neck lipo and I cant eat anything either and the pain was way worse than I was expecting. Yours looks great hope youre doing better now!
Thank you!! I’m exactly 2 week post op today and I promise you it will get better at the one week mark. :) There’s still a lot of nerve sensitivity but I can eat pretty much anything now. You’ll get better & better and see great results soon!! Hang in there.
What size did you get ?
My surgeon was actually really vague about the sizing, but apparently it is a “size 3 silastic (hard silicone” implant — during my consultation he said I’d most likely need a “medium or large”. :)

Day 2 & 3 post op
The surgery went really smoothly but geez, the doctors who say that this is a fairly painless surgery are lying! I’m in some of the worst pain & nerve sensation of my life. Taking hardcore painkillers every 3-4 hours is the only thing that kind of helps. I threw up 4 times the first night after surgery!
Neck is soooo sore from the liposuction. I can’t tilt my head up and it’s insanely tight.
My chin feels like it’s trying to rip itself open from the inside out. Major sore throat from breathing tube. My chest is killing me too.
As you can see, smiling/eating is impossible because the lower half of my face isn’t working right.
Overall I’d say I’ve consistently been on 5-7 of the pain scale. My face is very swollen and making me look like an angry elderly chipmunk so there’s no way for me to really check out the results yet.
Today will be day 3 post-op and idk how much longer I can stand this pain (and this really annoying head compression wrap). Tomorrow I remove the bandaid on my chin. Stitches come out on Tuesday.

I didn’t do a chin implant but I remember lipo under the chin is so painful. It feels like a needle is stuck in your skin. Plus you are super sensitive in that area especially when wearing the compression garment.
It will be easier and less painful when you don’t have to wear the garment but sensitive for many weeks.
