6 weeks post op - Smile is 90% back, Swelling has gone down significantly, slight assymetrical swelling
I almost have my normal smile back !! I'm starting to get used to the change in my face. Finally beginning to like the outcome. My smile is 90% back to normal. However my teeth still don't show as much as before and it feels a bit tight and tense. My bottom teeth still don't show when I talk. The swelling overall has gone down significantly, but it is still slightly asymmetrical. My doctor tells me the swelling will still go down the next couple of months. My chin still looks a bit tight and fake, but I'm only one month and half post op. The dimple on my chin is gone !!! And the pain on the right side is pretty much gone, just need to see how I feel now that I can start working out. Will update!
Also the random redness of my cheeks has not happened in a couple of weeks. Overall would score 8/10.

23 days post op
My smile is less crooked but still looks pretty tense. Although, compared to last week, it has definitely improved. You can see more of my top teeth when I smile and can now see some of my bottom teeth when I'm talking. The crookedness is nearly completely gone. I still look tense when I talk though, mainly my bottom lip, but it has certainly improved. I'm hoping that with time everything will go back to how it used to be. My chin is still having asymmetrical swelling, although I would say in general the swelling has gone down maybe 6%. My dimple is still there although it's a tiny bit less noticeable since my other muscles move more now when I talk. My cheeks still get red randomly throughout the day.
So far I have had 7 post op ultrasound sessions to reduce swelling. My surgeon has checked and says there is no infection, which could explain the red cheeks... so we don't know why that's happening. He also says he's hoping once swelling fully goes down that the dimple won't be noticeable. I told him the implant makes my chin look boxy and he says that this should not be the case. The implant has long wings extending on each side so as to prevent this boxy looking chin. He believes it to be because of the swelling or my muscle structure (which would mean the boxy looking would be permanent). Today is my 8th and last ultrasound and he says if the swelling doesn't go down significantly in the next three weeks that he will have to inject the area in order to reduce swelling.
I am hoping that with time all of these small complications will go away. I'm staying hopeful after seeing quite some improvement in one week. Hopefully the healing continues and my chin and smile will look more natural with time.

Crooked Smile, Chin Dimple and Asymmetrical Healing 2 Weeks Post Op
I am currently 16 days post op. I have always loved how I looked from the front and my big smile, however I have always been insecure about my side profile. I now feel like I regret getting this done. My doctor said that my front view would not change and that he was going to insert a 1cm possible 2 cm implant. I informed him I didn't want anything too big. Just to harmonize my side profile. The first few days after surgery were the worst. Fortunately the numbing sensation on my chin and lips only lasted one day. However, my left side has been much more swollen than my right since the beginning. The swelling has gone down significantly and my chin doesn't feel as tight BUT my smile has been ruined. My bottom teeth do not show and I have a crooked smile. To make matters worse, from the front view I feel like the implant looks too large (even tough compared to two weeks ago it has gone down to 1/3 of its size). When I smile or talk my chin looks crooked and I have a dimple which I never had before. My doctor says there is no nerve damage since I have had full sensation since the first few days and that the dimple is probably a contracted muscle and that he is hoping it goes away. He also says the crooked smile should heal with time, but Im really worried it won't. When I talk I sound funny because my mouth doesn't open as much and my bottom lip barely goes down. Coincidentally right above where my new dimple is, is where my bottom lip does not go down. I've read that most people get their smile back in 6 months or so and that my chin will look more natural by then.
I've decided to give it time although I'm not so sure this was worth it. If by the 9-10 month mark my smile hasn't come back and my chin still looks big, I'm thinking of removing it, although I'm worried that even after that I won't get my smile back. Here are some before and afters.
