I had talked about wanting to "put the girls back" for a long time. After my 42nd birthday, I realized time was ticking on and if I was going to do this, I should do it soon. I'm in good shape, at (or very near!) my ideal weight and just wanted everything tight again! I decided to finally do a consultation - and bam, two months later I was having a mommy makeover. For me, if I had waited any longer, I would have lost the nerve - or found a scheduling conflict... I had first decided only to do a breast lift (no implants) but after speaking with the surgeon, we decided that if I was going to go through with that procedure, I may as well take care of the excess skin on my stomach. Despite being relatively thin, I did have excess skin that no amount of working out was going to firm up. So, since I was going to go under to do my breasts and have that recovery, I decided to go forward with a tummy tuck and minor liposuction. Although that added another week to my recovery, so far I would say it's been worth it! The breast lift was no problem at all - and they look GREAT - so happy! The TT is definitely what caused me (expected) pain and additional recovery time. I'm excited to see what my stomach ultimately will look like but I'm totally optimistic. I'm 10-days post op and am really feeling pretty good. I'm up and around and quit taking all meds - just a few Advil now and then. I'm even back in my pre-surgery jeans! I feel 100% confident about my decision and am so excited to see how everything looks in the end. I had an amazing support system, which I highly recommend - my husband was with me every step of the way and my kids and parents were great help as well.
