Got a proposal for lipoabdominoplasty with vaser lipo to the flanks and inner and outer thighs. Procedure is a little over 11k but surgical center is just over 6k. Seems kinda steep. A friend used this doctor and surgical center and was very pleased. My obgyn knows the doctor and thinks highly of him. I'm scared about recovery as I work full time and have an 8 year old. I'm single and don't drive and live in a four story town home. Doc thinks I'll be ok. I live in the city.

I was able to have Progressive Suture Technique with Dr. Pollock. The recovery is easier... I was up and walking straight immediately after surgery. I am 1 week 2 days post op and can function very well ( light walking, driving, shopping, etc.). I do not use any special medical equipment and have slept in a regular bed with lots of pillows from Day 1.

Things are starting to get very real. I'm scared about the pain and being under for five hours with a machine breathing for me. Also feel a bit selfish for spending all this money on a new stomach when there are way more pressing matters in the world. Oh well. YOLO.

Had the pre op. The booklet they gave me was huge and scary. I'm basically taking a huge leap'of faith here and putting all my trust in my doctor. There is no autocad of what I will look like. It's all up to the doctor based on what he thinks I should look like according to his training and practice. I need to let go of control and trust. I hope they have a really good sedative for me when I walk in to the surgery center. I have done my target run and got all of the suggested prep accoutrements. I got all my meds. I changed my post op plan after pre op appt. I'm going to stay with my parents. Their condo has no stairs and a bathroom on the same floor, as opposed to my house. I was suprised I would be required to have some one take care of me and not leave me a lone for 24 hours. Tomorrow is my,last day of work till my leave for surgery. My daughter came down with a horrible flu four days ago and I've been scared of catching it. If Im sick they won't operate. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now.
