I became increasingly self conscious about my eyes...

I became increasingly self conscious about my eyes. They were really aging me; and I developed hollows & wrinkles. I listen to Doctor Radio on the Sirrius station, and heard a program promoting off label uses for the under eye area. Additionally, I read and researched my doctor and procedure. In my case, Restylane injections were a terrible mistake

I will never waste an opportunity to share my horrific experience with Dr. George Moynihan of Gold Coast Plastic Surgery in Chicago, Il. Not only was he dismissive and condescending; most importantly, he is terrible at injecting, correcting and over all the worst physician I have ever encountered. When the Restylane under my eyes began to swell and pool, he suggested I get Voluma to "greet" the awful pillows he had created. He said this would all "fill in nicely." After two weeks, I decided to have the filler removed. Before he injected the Hyaluronidase he crossed his fingers-I guess that should've tipped me off. When he injected the Hylenex, he hit an artery, maybe some blood vessels, said he wasn't "really sure" and sent me on my way. When I got home, I called his office stating that I was concerned about necrosis. I thought if he had hit a blood vessel and the product was breaking up, than perhaps the Restylane could block blood flow. He told me to, "get off the Internet" and said I was an over anxious patient. That was 5 weeks ago. His office has never called to check in and see how I was healing, nor did he suggest a follow up to examine the injury he caused. During this time, I sought the advice of another, more competent, compassionate, plastic surgeon. When I showed him the picture of the damage Dr. Moynihan caused, he said: "Quite frankly, if a patient sent me that picture, I would have panicked." This doctor has given me techniques to massage the area, arnica gel to help in my recovery, and has seen me every week to chronicle my healing. Dr. Moynihan is nothing more than a con artist/salesman. I'm amazed and astonished he's performing these procedures; clearly, he is not qualified to do so. He has caused me undue harm, and stress and has been negligent in follow up care.
