46 Year Old with 3 Kids..finally Took the Plunge for Lipo on my Abdomen - Chicago, IL

I was pregnant or nursing for 5 years straight and had my last son 2 months after I turned 40. I am now 45. While I was able to lose the baby weight..that damn FAT in the stomach area would not budge. I go the gym regularly, my arms, leg and butt are nice...but my stomach tortures me.

I've got a pooch--not a giant one, but enough that it is annoying and impacts my self-esteem. It took me two years to pull the trigger, and I swear I was convinced that I would die on the table.

But I didn't die! Yeah ME!!!! I had lipo on the stomach, front/back of armpits, plus love handles/bra-line. She took 2.5 lbs of FAT. Surgery was yesterday and I am super sore but not debilitated. Can't drive due to tramadol for pain...but I bet I only take that today. I will post pictures later...Overall I am happy post surgery. Now to wait a few weeks for RESULTS

Dr. Mussat offered many different options--inject the fat into my face for fillers, and we talked about butt too. But I chose not to because I am ok with my body except of the stomach fat! Having the rest of it taken off was a bonus!

Definitely a drippy/bloody mess afterwards...but it has definitely subsided now. Going to take a shower soon and get clean!!

Saw Dr. Mussat--all bandages off..still leaking out of one in the pubic and the other near the crack of my ass (ha ha). I feel pretty good but still on tramadol. Lots of mobility and I like how it looks so far. Hate the rippling and strange skin contours at this beginning stage--but I am sure that this is due to the swelling! Very few bruises!! Very surprised about that.

I am shocked at the difference! I knew it would be better, but honestly, I am going to have to have most of my pants taken in at the waist! I'm still sore on my "flanks" and the "crack of my ass" is still very sore. The numbing is probably at about only 20%. I am very pleased so far, and per my 3 week doc visit am still very swollen! I don't even notice that except in the flanks, so I can't imagine that I will get smaller! I am going to get a spray tan tomorrow and see how I look! It's funny because I really haven't been looking at myself very much. I thought I might be obsessed but since it's not the final result, I am not as crazy.

The massager is a real god send-definitely helps. I should be icing more too. Photos soon!!
