I am a healthy, active, non-smoking 52 year old that am often told I look much younger than my age. I was, however, obsessed with how the lines in my forehead and the eleven lines in between my brow were getting deeper by the day. I did my due diligence and met with several different plastic surgeons. I researched the procedure on line and talked with my family and friends about having it done. I had the procedure done endoscopically by a well-known board certified surgeon in Chicago. Nothing could have prepared me for the pain the day of and the day after the procedure. It was horrific. I bruised badly and it took over 5 weeks for the bruises to completely dissolve. The pain did improve a little each day, but the bad news is that over 6 weeks later, I am still experiencing discomfort. I have had many sleepless nights and days of terrible pain in my scalp and forehead. I still cannot put a brush through all of my hair because my scalp is still numb and tender. I cannot stress enough that this procedure is painful, draining and slow to heal. Perhaps it will not be the case for everyone, but if one person decides to not have it done because of my post then I am glad. My results are ok, but certainly not worth what I have been through. What is more scary is that I do not know how long it will be until I feel normal again. I have had three post operative appointments and am told there is likely no permanent damage, but there are no guarantees.
