My main concern was my tummy, after all of my pregnancies I needed help. I was 5'3 108 lbs. My 1st visit he assured me that losing weight/toning would not help. He could correct the extra skin/lax muscle problem through surgery. I also had saddlebags. The tummy tuck included lipo and he suggested it would be easy to do the saddlebag area as well. I had a bump on my nose and it was recommended to do a full nose job. All surgeries performed in 1 day. I was hesitant but the Dr. assured me that this was common practice and that all would be fine.
The Dr. had great personality, very persuasive, great bedside manner, and the office staff was great. 6 weeks later my husband even had lipo done! BUT after the healing time there seemed to be some major errors. I had a huge indent/hole in one of my hips from the lipo which was not supposed to be done in that area. When Dr. was confronted he refused to accept that it was his surgical error and suggested MORE surgeries, with costs incurred of course. The indent in my hip is so severe that is easily seen through form- fitting clothes.
Over a year later and a second opinion its been confirmed that the tummy tuck was overtightened. I cannot stand up straight which causes back pain. My nostrils are collapsing/not symmetrical.
Beware: He overbooks surgical days.
After going back to his office twice to discuss the errors he simply would not take ownership for his work only suggested more surgeries.
His work was below average at best and very high priced.
* I long for the body I had before surgery. It seems I exchanged one problem for many more plus lost a lot of money.

Do you have any pictures?
Let me look for some that I feel comfortable to post. It is embarrassing for me which is why I didn't post originally.
well that's the beauty of this website you can crop out your face and it'll remain 100 anonymous. No judgments here at all.
Yes, Dr. Shifrin has the "god complex". He is has a wonderful personality- even in the midst of a clear problem, it is never a result of his own doing. Thanks for the post and don't go back to him! As the saying goes fool me once right? Take care!
We are sorry we were unable to meet your surgical expectations. We are happy to see you back in the office for an updated examination and discussion of your concerns. We are unable to make clinical decisions without an in person examination. We would like to continue to provide you with care but are unable to do so without an exam.
We would be happy to post your photos for you if you wish.
Your last in person visit with our office was May of 2015. Please return to our office for an updated exam and we will be happy to work with you.

I saw Dr Shifrin for a revision tummy tuck just like you. I had a concern after the procedure with an area that had some skin bunching. I also didn't like how my hips looked after the tummy tuck. I brought up both with Dr and we looked at my before and after pictures in person. He listened to me and saw my concern areas. He was very reasonable to work with. He fixed the bunching free of charge and performed Lipo of my hip in his office. I paid a small fee for the supplies only for that part (i actually had the full hip before surgery and after looking at the pictures I saw it and hadn't paid for that before). I am really thankful he took care of the bunching and did extra Lipo work at no charge.
Your experience doesn't sound at all my like mine. Did you see him and look at your before and after pictures with him in person? It really helped me. I lost track of what my body looked like before my surgery. I hear this can happen. Can you post your before and after pictures? I'm curious to see what happened. You said he revised bad work from another surgeon on your stomach. Is your result better now? A friend of mine had surgery by a different surgeon in Miami. She had nice results but never seemed happy. To make a long story short, turns out she had body dysmorphic disorder and after working through that she was happy with her results. She still takes the meds they gave her and she's happier as a person. Hope you feel better.
I agree with you kind of hard to believe. So far my experiences with him and his staff have been fantastic and I've heard great things of him from other physicians( non plastic surgeons)
Exactly!!! Where are the photos of this travesty you speak of, I don't think this is a real person
