So I haven't started my treatment yet but I just wanted to get feedback from others going through this experience. Less than a month ago I got this whopping tattoo on my foot. My other artist I originally wanted work from had canceled on me, and being heart broken I really just wanted to walk away from the convention with a tattoo I'd be happy with. Apparently I was a littl too desperate. When I first saw the design of this on the tabel I was in love! It had reminded me of this nightmare I had all the time growing up, and I couldn't stop thinking about how much I loved it so I decided I would go with it. In the process of having it become a real life nightmare, as soon as the color was put into it I knew what a horrible decision I'd made. I tried to make myself like it and and tell myself it was fun and unique, but I honestly just think it looks like a giant skateboard sticker on my foot and I want nothing to do with it. I feel so bad because the artist is incredibly talented; and I still do like the design as an art piece... Just probably shouldn't have put it on my foot to stare up at me forever... -___- so hating myself and wanting to move forward with my life, considering I now feel traumatized from the whole thing and is greatly effecting my life and personality, I set up an appointment at the Chicago Breast and Body aesthetics. The people there were really nice, and even gave me a student discount. They quoted me a package deal of 3 picosure treatments costing $1,500. They said with at least three treatments I'll see a large amount of change in my tattoo, at least "enough to have a cover up artist cover it"... But I'm thinking I just want to remove the entire thing completely or as best as possible. From what I've read I'm thinking a tattoo as large and as dark as mine, and with it being on my foot with a spot of poor circulation, I think it will at least take 5 or 6 treatments before I'm happy, but their individual prices for teeatments cost almost as much as their package deals so this makes me super nervous on proceeding... Especially with money I don't really have to begin with :( of course I'll do whatever is necessary, but just going through this all alone has been really hard for me and I could really use so words of advise. So please reach out to me if you have a story like this or have been through something similar!

I'm going to Derick Dermatology in Elgin (off 90 & Randall Rd) for a 15 yr old tattoo. They are using a Picosure laser, too. I paid $1,000 for 5 treatments. I just finished my third and it's coming along well. I should be completely done by the 5th treatment. $1,500 for 3 treatments may be a little high, but that's the city!

Hello and I am sorry to hear of your dilemma. I had a tattoo on my ankle removed. It took 10 treatments at the price of $60.00 each. Mine was approximately 8 years old. Yours in new and fresh so It should be easier to remove. I will not lie to you, the laser treatments hurt and burned. My skin blistered and was very red for several days after each treatment. I totally understand wanting to remove it completely as opposed to getting it covered with something else. I went through the whole process and a year later that tattoo was gone. What remained was a reddish brown scar from the treatments. My technician told me that is normal and is due to the trauma to the skin from the lasers. She told it would fade, but could take years to fade completely. I was okay with that for a while, but every time I looked at the redness it still bothered me. I ended up going to a cover up artist. He was recommended to me by a friend. I didn't consider this before because I didn't want another tattoo, I just wanted it gone. I had gone to several other artists who told me the ink would not take well over the lasered area. This artist covered up the scar for 1/3 of the price that laser treatments cost. I now have a beautiful flower in place of the red scar and I couldn't be happier with it. I would see how it goes. In your case since the tattoo is new it may come off very quickly. If you are not happy with the result, a cover may be another option for you. Good luck.

Let's be honest here because I am going through the same thing with my daughter and hers is only black ink which is said to be easier to get rid of then color. We are on treatment number 15 and about $6,000 and she needs another 5 treatments at least and thats with black ink. She is using the best and most current laser to date for tattoo removal. You tattoo, not to discourage you, but your tattoo is at least 15 treatments and if they are telling you differently then its because they want to at least get you to start a package with them because once you start, your not going to stop hence more money. To tell you this upfront, you may not start the treatments at all. Understand? If you want to see her before and to date pictures please inbox me and I will be happy to show you what 15 treatments looks like.

Your getting ripped off for sure, my friend had his entire hand tattoo removed (dense black and green ink) in one year. Can't even tell he ever had a ink there previously.. I'd probably reconsider the location imo

Well hers is from under the arm to her hip so much larger scale however black ink only. They charge $400 a session every 30 days. We're in New York so certainly not a rip off when the going rate is $650 a session. The doctor felt bad cause she's a kid and gave us a huge break but was very honest with the amount of sessions. Just a guide to go by. I am a tattoo artist myself (I wish I did removal lol).
