Not wanting a drastic change, just know that no matter how much I work out my body genetics will never supply me with the waist to hip ratio and symmetry/curviness that I desire. I dislike the squareness of my body and the narrow hips. I decided to go with Dr. Shifrin because I read excellent reviews and he's done many of these procedures. He seems competent so far, however, my experience with the office had been frustrating. Wait times were over 3 hours and the staff, although friendly, just didn't seem to have efficiency down. For spending 10.5k I would have hoped I wouldn't need to call them to ensure they received my labs, paperwork multiple times, etc. I wasn't given much guidance as to how to prepare for surgery, there was no garment fitting, I haven't found out my surgery time which is not good for planning. It's added to the anxiety of the surgery. All of the info I've gathered to prepare was off of real self. Here's to hoping the actual procedure is not a reflection of their offices practices. For being a premier Chicago surgeon I hope he gets his office ran like a well oiled machine. No amount of charm will make up for waiting three hours and a disorganized staff.

I'm all done! I surprisingly feel great. My anesthesiologist, Dr. Cookmeister was phenomenal. 900 n. Michigan is a state of the art surgical facility. Immediately after surgery I felt so lousy in recovery and my pain was a solid 8/10. Got a little fentanyl and Vicodin but glad the nurse didn't knock me out otherwise I would have never made it home. I didn't vomit or feel nauseous thanks to the scopolamine patch they gave me. My gf drove me home. Staying at a friends home that has an elevator thank GOD. I popped a Norco as soon as I got back. Passed out prone on a bed covered in chuck pads. I dreamt so vividly and felt rejuvenated after my nap. Been walking around, voided about 4 times with the pez female urinal with ease. Tolerated dinner. Face timed my entire friends and family network and they all say I seem pretty chipper. I know the swelling will subside and I shouldn't get attached to the way I look now but so nice to finally have a waist and a booty! Hopefully it's up from here and day two continues in a positive direction!! I'm surprised I wasn't given a compression garment. I'm definitely pooling some fluid and was under the impression that compression garments are good for post op. Dr. Shifrin says I'll get it next week. Just gotta trust he knows a thing or two about this. Will keep updating as I go on!

You look great thanks for reviewing much appreciated! The pain after waking up seems scary :( is it like a bruising pain or a stabbing pain?

It's a mixture of grogginess and sharp burning pain/pressure. Also felt a little nauseous but it was just gas

Swelling and ace wrap

I was starting to swell in my thighs and it's painful so I wrapped ace bandages around myself since no garment was provided (still don't get why since it seems compression aids the healing process) It's already helped immensely with walking and pain! Rubbed arnica gel on my thighs. So far so good:)

I agree that it's odd that you weren't in compression garments right away
