Let me tell you about myself. I am a 23 year old Hispanic female looking for a rhinoplasty. Like many here looking to get a nose job, I have been self conscious about my nose. Don't get me wrong, I don't think my nose is that bad but I think it can look better. I have a love hate relationship with my nose. There's days I like how it looks, my mom likes to say that it gives me character. I have a bump in my nose and I think it looks big for my face. I want a finer nose without being over-done.
After years of researching online for the best surgeon for a nose job, I think I finally found the perfect doctor and he is close to home. I had my first consultation back in November. Dr. Shah came in and pretty much read my mind of the things I wanted to change about my nose without being over done. He showed me some pictures of previous patients and one thing that this doctor stood out from all other is that his work looks natural and it doesn't look like a cookie cutter. He was also honest because I also thought about getting a chin implant and he gave me his point of view and told me a chin implant will give me a too strong of a look. Other doctors have agreed about me getting a chin implant but him discouraging me and telling me why meant a lot for me rather than him agreeing and me paying for a chin implant that I might regret later.

I'm getting a rhinoplasty with him in January. I also asked about the implant and he said that it would make my face more masculine and said it's a bad idea. I'm also getting fillers and botox after the surgery. Are you scheduled already? I'm so scared thinking of having surgery. It was easy scheduling the appt but now that it's getting closer I'm freaking out.

He told me the same thing about the chin implant. I am thinking of scheduling early April. I just have a couple more questions before I take the dive. It is nerve wrecking. Please keep me updated about your experience! I would love to know how it went :)

I had my procedure on the 10th of January. Everything went really well. My nose is really swollen but I can already tell that he did a good job. I really love my profile and can't wait until the tip is less swollen. I barely had any pain and breathing is getting better everyday. Overall, this whole experience was a breeze. I had some issues with sleep but it's getting better.

Well I had my revision rhino done by a doctor in Mismi on ham 9th and so far I not very happy. I am waiting to hear from Dr Shah I would like to see if he can fix it.

Do you have pictures to share? I still am doing research on other doctors in the chicago area. Im nervous about having the procedure done. Im planning to seeing dr shah about the procedure. I would love to see your results. Its nice to hear you had a great experience! :)

Was $4,500 for everything including the facility fees? I have a consultation to see Dr.Shah in month and I would like an idea on how much I need to save

Insurance might cover the septoplasty part if you are getting any functional work done.

Yeah. Roughly 2500 is facility and anesthesia fees and the rest is his fees which is actually a reasonable price.

No, just the rhinoplasty and facility and anesthesia fees. The chin implant would have been $1650 more.

Thanks for the reply. I am considering having the procedure done with Dr shah too. Did you see any other doctors in chicago? I am a little timid to have the procedure done . I would love to see your recovery and results. Funny that I am from Chicago , Hispanic and have similar features too. I feel the same about the hump on my nose. I'm glad you're posting your experience :)

the waiting begins....
So I finally called to make my surgery appointment. I will also get to see Dr. Shah a week prior to my surgery so I can ask him last minute questions and just go over what he is going to do. My surgery and appointment will be in March. That will give me enough time to ask a week off from work and to pay as I go. The doctor's fee has to be paid 2 weeks prior to the surgery and the hospital fee is paid the day of the surgery. I'm so excited and I wish I could have done it sooner but it will give me enough time to prepare.

You will love your new nose. After years of hating to look in the mirror I love looking at my nose and it's only been 3 weeks since my surgery. My nose is still swollen and it will be few more months before I see the final result. Dr. Shah did a really good job in that he did not change my nose so much that I look like a different person but I just look more feminine. I finally don't feel like the ugliest person in the room. I feel normal and cute. This was such a good decision. Good luck with your surgery.

Good to hear that. I will have to wait I had surgery in Miami but not happy with results. I will have to wait till my 6 nth or 1 yr mark go fix this mess. Thx. I sent him an email looking forward to it. Do you have s before anc after photo ?

2 more days until my surgery!
I am so nervous and excited! So I went to see Dr. Shah a week before my surgery for last minute questions. I cannot be happier by how awesome they are and patient and answering all my questions. I have no doubt in my mind that I chose the right doctor for my surgery. He will be performing open nose surgery just so my tip can be refined as he removes my hump. He never sent me the morph pictures so I can upload them so you all can see what I'm talking about haha I am bad at explaining but I will load more pics after my surgery! My cast will be removed a week from my surgery. I did have to take a week off from work. So hopefully when i go back to work, no one will notice what I got done.

Please take two weeks off from work...you'll need it!!! You won't like to go out of your house with a swollen nose and feel dizzy every time you bend your body...you need some time for you, to heal!!
