I had a revision on my upper lids and I am much happier with the results. I am glad that I didn't listen to anyone but myself on that. However, now at 9 months post my lower lids are settling in a way that I am not thrilled with. I have major wrinkles and bulging fat pockets that leave me wondering if this is the best I can expect. I am turni g 47 at the end of the month and feeling old.

Upper bleph revision

Z

I had my revision last Thursday afternoon. Stitches out on Tuesday morning. Things are looking good. My right eye looks great. Left eye still has a very tiny persistent roll that refuses to go away but at almost a week after the procedure it looks much smaller. The skin is also very swollen at the incision line and I expect the tiny roll will improve and most likely disappear once this goes down. At this point I think I'm going to be the only one who can notice it. I will post some more photos in a few days when the swelling improves. Because of the unique anatomy of this particular eye and some larger vains I'm not sure I will ever be 100% happy with it but the improvement is vast.

Thanks for sharing this. I am 8 days post upper and lower blepharoplasty and brow lift as well as fat graft to under my eyes, temples, upper eyelids and below to blend in with contours. It is a total shock. I like the look of everything although still swollen (am looking forward to some of the graft dissipating) and bruised but nowhere near as badly as you were. But I HATE my upper blepharoplasty as well. My cut line is higher on the one side than the other so the one lid to the crease looks a different length and a slightly different shape. I was unsure about doing it as I felt that the brow lift would take care of the small drooping of my upper lids and I wish I had gone with my instincts. It is so frustrating that you have to do a revision and wait 6-12 months to do so. I went to a top surgeon who measures everything fanatically and is a total perfectionist, but despite this things go wrong. I feel better that I am not the only one!! I have had a revision on every surgery I've ever had so I am very unlucky but always hopeful that it will go well. I had lipo by a top guy who botched it and I've had 5 revisions to fix it. Same guy did my breasts (I had to have one lowered). Believe it or not I've had them replaced with anatomical ones as I like a very natural look and yes, once again - one is higher than the other!!! Good luck to you and consider yourself lucky that it almost resolved!!! Hope that makes you feel better!

Thanks for your comment. It does make me feel better knowing I'm not alone. My one eye is just wonderful now but the other still has a small roll and that darn bugger persists even with more skin removed. It does look better and the incision is still thick so I am hopeful for more improvement but it is frustrating. I will tell you that my lowers and even somewhat uppers and fat transfer all continue to settle even more. I am almost perfectly happy with it all at this point except my little roll. I didn't realize it would take so long for it all to settle but you will likely see improvement with time and patience. Keep me posted on things.

Did you use the same doctor for the revision?

Almost 4 months

I'm at 15 weeks post surgery now. So nearly 4 months. I am getting used to my eyes but still unhappy with the uppers. The roll is still there on both eyes. My doc wants me to wait until November, Botox, and see how I feel. I am feeling impatient. I still feel Botox will not be the permanent solution and feel strongly about a little extra skin removal. My brows are not that droopy. I wish I felt better about this but it's hard looking at my face and putting on mascara every day.

Honestly you look great !!!! Please do not mess with your face more . There are way to many things that can go wrong . You have a natural beauty , leave it that way :)

Thank you ladies. I'm not able to agree with you on the upper eyelid rolls. They have to go. I am going to try the Botox route and have an appointment on Thursday. I would rather not go under the knife again but there is just way too much skin rolling over the crease. It looks unnatural. I appreciate your words of encouragement and let's hope the Botox lifts everything.

I think you should wait at least till you reach your 6 months mark. I had upper and lower eyelid surgery and my eyes kept on changing until i reached 6 months, then I finally had the result I was looking for. Eyelid skin is very thin and heals quite well but you need to be very patient. In case it stays the same I think the small procedure of removing the excess skin will not be too invasive, but do you trust this surgeon? Why did she not do a good job in the first place?

Thanks for your input! I hope in my case things continue to improve like yours did. No person it looks just terrible to me right now. I do trust this doctor and I think she is helping me be patient and wait until more healing takes place. I understand the reasons behind being conservative on upper lids. I know I bled a lot more than most people so maybe that contributed to it. She has very high ratings from all of her patients. My skin is extra saggy and crepy on one eye. I'm scheduled for Botox next week. Hope it at least helps while I finish healing.

Hi, Had surgery in costa rica. A frien I met there also had her eyes done by a different Dr. After she removed the stitches, she did a quick laser over the stitched area . This helps even out the stitched lines. Just wondering if something like that might help you as well. She had it done twice after surgery

My scars are still a little thick but they aren't bad. They are further down from the crease. I will ask my doctor about it but I'm not as concerned about the stitch lines as I am about the extra skin rolls above the crease.

I just had a correction procedure done and I'm very excited to see my results. I can't say enough about Dr. Christopolous. she has been right about my progress and even more of the puffiness on my lower lids is down. She attended to all of my concerns and being awake for the correction makes me respect her as a surgeon even more. When the stitches come out I'm confident I will be thrilled with my results. I'm happy to have the extra roll of skin gone.

is this the same Dr. That did the surgery the first time? Did she charge to do the revision?

Yes, this was done by the same doctor and no, she did not charge me for the revision.
