16 weeks post op - happy but flex distortion is awful!
$1,500
16 weeks post explant, I am fluffing nicely BUT - still have severe flex distortion on the left side. My vertical scars aren't healing as well as when I originally had the lift/inplant a year ago but I anticipate they will fade in time.
I am beginning to get sensation back in the left nipple - I haven't had any sensation since the original surgery so that is good.
My only real disappointment is the flex distortion on the left side, when I flex my muscles my breast looks awful.I was really hoping this would be fixed with the explant. It almost appears that the minor fat grafting he did, completely went away. I think he said he only grafted 40 cc which I couldn't imagine would do anything anyway.
It is what is is. I'm happy, I'm healthy and can now work out and do my push-ups like before. I still can't do a pull-up because the flex distortion does hurt and tug slightly but it's better than nothing! The bags are gone and I am ever so happy for that. I can't believe I ever thought it would be a good idea. Note to self, always go with your gut! I would love to remedy the flex distortion but not sure I want any more surgery!

I think as women, we are the most critical of our bodies. I don't think I will ever have the breasts I've dreamed of and I'm accepting of that. This past surgery left me with some unevenness in areola positioning and apparently I am also uneven in size, something I never noticed when I was saggy.
None of this is the doctors fault. Each of heals differently and I'm hoping with time I will look more even. These are my pics 4 weeks after explant and 9 months after the total lift with implants. One areola has a lot of pleating which looks odd. One is also smaller than the other. I'm just going to be patient and hope all heals well. For now, I'm covering everything back up with brown tape for another 8 weeks. I hope all of this settles and evens out.
I also can no longer do a pull up, my chest muscles still deform my breasts and over flexing feels awkward. A tough lesson to learn from my 8 months of implants. If only I just did a lift from the get go, I would have avoided the muscle issues and an extra surgery.

So very true. We were naive and did not have all the insight we do now. But we can pass this info, as you have, to others and share our experience in the hopes that ladies will stop and take the time to research their decisions before implanting. I think you are going to heal beautifully btw....be patient and thank you for sharing your story. Soft hugs your way!
Hugs back....thank you!!!
I had my implants removed after 13 years. When I flexed my pectoral muscles they were deformed (awkward at the gym and gross in the mirror). My implants were placed half under/half over the muscle so I thought that was the issue. It looked as if the implant and my breast tissue was separated. Anyway, I am only 10 days post op so I will let you know how I make out and post pics. The Dr said it may do the same thing as before
Please do share. I still have the flex distortion, it just doesn't look as odd without the implants. I was in spin the other day and everytime I leaned forward and put pressure on my chest, I saw the girls high tail it to the left and right, leaving a huge gap between the two! Just another lesson.
I hope your issues resolve when you recover, I guess it all depends on how much scar tissue your doc removed. Best of luck and share some results as you recover. Hugs!
Agreed! So much research is needed and not everyone has the same results. I never thought this is where I would be 8 months from the initial surgery. I guess all of this is a lesson for me.
Regardless of how much I look like Frankenstein, my husband hasn't minded. He didn't mind the saggy me, the implanted me, or this new odd me. I need to see myself the way he sees me and stop trying so hard to look "perfect". There is no perfect and I'm leaning this lesson the very hard way. Now I need to work on accepting myself again.
I too have this flex distortion issue. Every time I'm at the gym and I lean forward to do an exercise- not pretty. It did that before on my right side (with implants) but it does look worse now. And on top of that, on the same breast there is a dip that hasn't filled in yet (7 weeks post). I have been told that it eventually will and could take several months. Despite these issues, I am thrilled to have those toxic bags out.
You will be surprised and delighted as to how wonderful your ladies will look after a year. Just keep positive and continue on the incredible path you have chosen. Please keep sharing. Health is everything...God Bless.
"If only" are famous last words. You did what you thought was right at the time. Everything will even out, I am sure of it, and I hope you and your ladies will live happily ever after. Thank you so much for sharing. We all learn from each other. God Bless...
I hope these girls will even out. I'm stressed about the pleating and can't believe I spent so much to end up like this. What an expensive lesson in vanity!!!!

12 days post explant, touch up lift and fat transfer
It's been a full 12 days and I'm doing okay. I emailed my doc twice last week for a follow up visit but received no response which is very frustrating. I guess there's really no need to see him anyway, I'm feeling like an old pro. I clipped the pointy stitches, removed the Steri-strips and made sure all looked good - everything he did 8 months ago post-op when I had the lift with implants. My only concerns are the difference in stitching techniques from one side to the other - my vertical scar was nearly non existent from the first procedure and I'm concerned that the two different closures may leave one side more scarred - only time will tell. Also, I'm not sure when I'm supposed to start scar treatment but I've read 3-4 weeks so I can handle that too.
I also wonder how much fat was actually transferred (in cc's) because I still have flex distortion. Not as bad but if 75 percent of the fat transfer will go away like he says, I'm still left with very ugly flex distortion. At this point, it is what it is. No more surgeries!!!
