So far, I had the initial consultation with Dr. Truong and his assistant Monika on April 18, 2018. It was about an hour long and we went over my goals and expectations for the procedure. It was a very comforting atmosphere and I think I was really able to talk openly about why I was there, which was pretty much to get rid of my tummy. I understand that this procedure is NOT about weightloss, but moreso about body contouring; and that is precisely what I am looking for.
After Dr. Truong mentioned that based on my medical history and goals that I would be an ideal candidate for the procedure, we discussed what would happen in the operating room and he demonstrated exactly where he would remove fat. His assistant was very reassuring of the low risk of the procedure and even talked about her own experience, which I really appreciated hearing because I know very few people who have done something similar.
I left there with a pre-procedure and procedure date booked.

Pre-Op Appointment and General Findings
lc32017April 25, 2018
Yesterday, I went back for my pre-operation appointment. I met with Monika the medical assistant and we went over all the things I should be doing/not doing to prepare for surgery. Most of which is particularly medicines. We also went over consent forms and post-operation concerns like drainage, numbness, and swelling.
I brought a list of questions of me from my research (all I do these days is read reviews on realself and watch vlogs on youtube). The assistant was super thorough and was able to answer each one. They attempted to take blood, however I had a had time getting a vein to appear and drain enough so I will have to go to Quest this weekend (which is kind of annoying cause it just adds another something-to-do).
I feel excited about the procedure and how it will change my life and overall satisfaction with my appearance, but I do feel a sense of anxiety. I kepe looking for someone to say something bad about their experience so I know what to look out for or maybe I will say no. So far, a vast majority of reviews are positive.
The only thing I don't like is how long the swelling will take to go down. Most reviewers' experience is that it takes the full 4-6 months for swelling to dissipate, which will stink because summer is around the corner. Hiding under big clothes is not ideal.
So right now, the plan is to research all the things I can do to aid in a healthy speedy recovery.
1. Lipo foam
According to what I have read, the foam reduces the appearance of lines that may occur as a result of tight compression garments. The seams can create indents on the skin, so the foam helps absorb that so your skin lays flat. It is worn underneath your garment against the skin.
2. Abdominal Board
According to what I have read, the board helps flatten the tummy and reduce swelling.
3. Low salt diet. Salt helps retain water, which gives the bloated/swollen look. I am already starting to get in the habit of salads and soups with low sodium to make sure this is an easy transition.
------
The doctor will provide a compression garment, but I plan on doing some research to see if there is a particular one that other people feels works best. Once you spend so much money on the procedure you want to make sure you have the best aftercare to see your optimal results.
Anyway, the next time I see the doctor I will be in the surgery facility. In the meantime, I have his assistants cell and the anesthesiologist will be giving me a call to talk me through that portion, which I think is great that I will have a chance to get comfortable pre-surgery.
Will continue to update on my journey and post pictures soon!

I will be following your results with interest. I had several areas treated 2-3 years ago and some areas were barely touched and my knees were noticeably different sizes and since then I've been having every area he did re-done. I just had my inner knees, inner thighs and banana rolls redone 4/2/18 and last June I had my upper and lower abs and flanks redone. Dr T told me that it was skin yet I had another 1500 ccs removed from there. He does not want to do revisions.... Hope it works out for you.
