I began to notice a slight slackness in the skin...

I began to notice a slight slackness in the skin of my lower face and upper neck, and decided to undergo laser skin-tightening with Dr. Khalifeh. I have witnessed excellent outcomes on faces of friends and colleagues, so I was excited to see the same for myself. My friends reported extreme pain during the process, for which they were given Valium whilst it was underway. Dr. Khalifeh found an awesome way around both the pain and the inconvenience of being sedated to an extreme degree by utilizing a topical numbing agent along with numbing injections. I felt NO pain, only tolerable heat, and I was able to drive myself home, which would not have been the case if I'd had to take a Valium for the pain. For this procedure, results develop over 2 to 3 months; I'm 4 weeks out, and already notice much more firmness in my lower face! I also had Botox injections in my forehead, and that looked awesome pretty much immediately!

Dr. Khalifeh performed my laser treatment himself, rather than one of his nurses, as is the case in many plastic surgeons’ offices, which I really appreciate, as he's very particular with respect to his work. I always feel as if I get a little bit more than he actually has to give when receiving treatments from him... =)

What type of Laser treatment, what's the name? Are you happy with the results? Did you do any other areas on your face?

I had the Ultherapy treatment from the cheekbones to my throat (plus Botox on my forehead)...

I'm VERY happy with the results!!

I have a Friend in Arizona who just did it, and is already seeing results. However I am hesitant after reading A LOT of bad reviews on here. Saying it shrinks your eyes and changes the color of your eyes!?! Also that it melts the fat off your Face, which I can't afford to loose. Have you read any of these, is that why you did not do the eyes? What did the Doc say about fat loss?

Are you sure you read bad feedback about Ultherapy? The science behind this type of laser treatment is that it causes collagen to form under the skin, so that the skin is lifted/tightened from underneath. This isn't the type of laser that melts/liquefies fat, like the SmartLipo laser, so there won't be volume loss/fat loss. I have huge blue eyes, and still have 'em! =D I didn't ask for under-eye laser treatment, as I don't need it yet, but I do know of another type of laser treatment for that delicate area -- I believe it's called Excelis; I know friends who've had great results from that.

YES......if you put in "ULtherapy" reviews on this sight you will see a lot of people complaining that it ruined their looks, and eyes epically. My Friend seems to be very happy with it so far. Maybe it's a matter of who does the procedure, and it they do it correctly! :)

Great point, Traci!

Hello- I had Ultherapy in January of last year. My initial results were great as my face had a nice bit of swelling & tightening. After several months I realized the damage and fat loss. I've spoken to several reputable dermatologists that carry the Ulthera laser and it was confirmed to me that it can cause fat loss. Last year, 5 months after the treatment, I had to have filler put in to bring me back to where I was before the procedure. This year, I've have had 2 syringes of Voluma around the outer edge of my face and in my cheeks to try to repair the damage. I'm not someone that likes to look over done and prefer the natural look. If I could go back, I would've avoided Ulthera completely. I will need fillers for the rest of my life and my skin will never be the same. I had Ulthera performed at a very reputable plastic surgeons office in MD, so I don't feel it is the practitioner, but the laser itself. My best advice is to steer clear, but I get the temptation. I was hoping for the best as well. Good luck.

So sorry for your unfavorable outcome! I had not heard even one negative comment about Ultherapy before I received my treatment... so far so good for me.

It seems to me like some people do have great results. But after reading many reviews on here it seems to be a 50/50 chance you might have fat loss or other effects. Might be too soon with a newer procedure to really know? I hope you are one of the 50% that has great results!!!

You look great.
Are you willing to post any before photos for comparison?
September 4, 2015
I now wish I had taken photos of myself before the procedure, but I didn't.
September 6, 2015
Do you have any old photo, even if not directly before the procedure?

I'm very "vain", and don't keep photos of myself unless they flatter me... Going forward, though, I will take before photos, since I see how much people share and help each other on this site. I'm doing the Cellulaze procedure in the next few weeks, and I'll DEFINITELY share my embarrassing "before shots!" =D

I've not heard of that one, is it for Cellulite? I need that!
September 8, 2015
It sure it and I'm chomping at the bit to try SOMETHING for my issue, which I can remember as far back as 12 years of age! =0
September 9, 2015
Yep... I'm in the same boat, and I've always been active and not overweight! It got worse after having my Son!

Cellulaze is about "snipping" connective tissue that's become uneven over the years due to aging, weight fluctuations, hormones, etc. For the back of my thighs and lower butt, Dr. Khalifeh approximates 4 hours for the treatment, under local anesthesia.

I DEFIFNITELY will! =D

Strange that you don't have any before photos. With all the controversy of Ultherapy, at this point I would have to see before photos.

You are beautiful!

About a week after my Ultherapy treatment, I heard about the Real Self site; I've always been so vain that I destroyed photos that didn't flatter me, but, now that I see how much before shots really help people, I'd be comfortable posting not so flattering images of myself. I honestly didn't have a huge problem with loose skin before the treatmebt, but it bothered me. I understand that folks that actually need a facelift don't get a great result, so maybe that's why I'm so pleased with my outcome. Thanks for your kind words! =D
