I have had moderate acne scars on my face for 20+...
In the end, I was refered to my laser dermatologist by a cosmetic surgeon, and had a very positive experience.
I had 3 very deep ice-pick scars that were excised during an in-office procedure and allowed to heal, first.
A few weeks later, I had full-face, CO2 laser remodelling.
I was given prescriptions for antivirals (I think?) to take right before the procedure. The day of the procedure, my face was numbed with numbing cream, and injections in more sensitive areas, and I was given medications for pain, an anti-viral (i believe) and a valium.
A nurse was present, in addition to the doctor and her assistant. They monitored my vitals and the doctor covered my eyes with special contact lenses. I did not feel any pain or discomfort during the actual procedure! I did feel "out of it," from the valium, and the skin felt very hot and looked very swollen immediately after the procedure.
I went home and slept for a very long time afterward. I kept my head elevated on pillows, and the recovery balm on my face. The next day, i had minor peeling, and washed and used the recovery balm several times. By the next day, my skin had finished the minor peeling, and was just a bit red. There was never any pain, just some swelling especially around my eyes.
I went for my follow-up appointment on Monday, and was actually sort of upset that my face healed so well- i was expecting much worse damage to the skin surface! As time went on, the collagen remodeling has been amazing! I am very pleased with the results and only wish I had done it sooner!

I generally don't write reviews, but felt so lucky to have found Dr. West, I am compelled to review the experience. The entire staff is not only professional and knowledgeable, but personable and caring as well. I have never had a wait greater than 3-4 minutes in the times I have been there. Dr. West listened to my specific needs and created a treatment plan that fit my desired results and circumstances. The office is clean, modern and has the absolute latest in laser equipment. My appointments were run meticulously with each staff member ready and prepared at each step of the way. There was plenty of time and a relaxed environment for questions, etc.and Dr. West took her time to discuss every question/concern in detail and with a friendly demeanor. In addition to the follow-up calls and appointments after the laser treatment, Dr. West also included several bottles of different healing gels/cleansers/sunblocks, 2 (aquamist?) facials to help the healing process, and even performed a minor additional treatment - at no extra charge! It was obvious to me, at all times, that everyone there has a true interest in my actual results and satisfaction. And, my actual results are amazing! I have had scars on my face for 20+ years and was somewhat resigned to having them. After the procedure, my skin healed very quickly (much more so than what I have read in people's blogs) and my skin is now lovely! I never thought I would feel that way about my skin, but each day I look in the mirror I actually feel happy. The doctor is gifted in her abilities. Like I said, I don't generally write reviews, but my experience here was very unique!
