Perfect Derma Peel
After rebuilding my moisture barrier this year from 10+ years of damage, I’ve set out to try to smooth my skin and even my complexion out.
I have hyperpigmentation, boxcar scars, large pores, redness from broken capillaries. I also had crepey skin from the years of dehydration, it has slowly been being fixed by repairing the moisture barrier. I am a fitzpatrick 1, with cool undertones. I decided on this peel because I am hopeful that the TCA will help with texture.
Day 1.
At my 10am appointment, my esthetician cleaned my face and neck with acetone. She’d already explained the process to me in a consultation, but explained again as she was applying it. She applied the peeling solution, and fanned it to help it dry. It stung for about 1 minute and then subsided, and off I went with my take home kit. My face was slightly pink and looked like it had iodine all over it. I went to bed without washing my face, neck or hair.
Day 2.
Washed face with mild cleanser, then vigorously applied first towelette, it slightly tingled then went away. I waited 30 minutes and applied the provided sunscreen, grabbed a hat and went about my day. My skin looked dry, and slightly pink. I noticed after eating and talking, the area around my mouth felt crispy, but it wasn’t unbearable at all. At night I applied the second towelette after cleansing.
Day 3.
Woke up to my skin feeling dry, nothing unbearable or itchy, just like it needs a good deep moisturizer. It is darker pink than it was on day 2, with a little peeling starting to occur around the nose. I expect that as the day goes on and I move my mouth more, the peeling will start to spread.
