I'm sure you researched the heck out of this but I've done tca's at home many times. You can wear disposable LATEX gloves. They wont melt. Buy a roll of cotton GAUZE for applying the tca. Its kinda scratchy and will go deep. Just cut into big square and fold several times. You should invest in some hyaluronic serum and hyaluronic moisturizing cream. The good stuff. As soon as you neutralize and cold water rinse, gently pat dry with a clean, unused towel. Apply your serums and moisturizer and the Aquaphor. Its amazing and promotes healthy healing. Also, use Aquaphor. It also promotes healthy healing and helps fight against bacteria. I wash very lightly and gently once a day with cetaphyl gentle/sensitive formula. And whatever you do, do NOT pull the skin when its still attached. Thats a huge NO NO. Sometimes I think I'm never going to peel. You can rinse your face and sometimes the water will help speed up the peeling. But you will need to reapply your moisturizer. Need to apply the hyaluronic goods twice a day. Also the Aquaphor. It will help with the miserable tightness. By the way, do NOT stretch your mouth and neck when its tight. Its healing and you have to deal with it until the dead skin starts to release. If you pull and its not ready, you could get yourself a little scar or prolong the healing. You did good!!
I also use TCA at home and I agree with cr63 except I use neosporin the first day, and Aquaphor thereafter. I also put Vaseline around my nostrils and ears in the event I get a little sloppy as I apply it with a brush. I am very impressed you could tolerate the layering. I usually dilute my 30% to 15%, and that's enough for me. I still get an excellent peel. I did my neck and chest for the first time this winter and the results are unbelievable! I love when all of the sun damage peeled off. It did take much longer than my face, and I used 1% hydro-cortisone cream enriched with vitamins A, D, aloe, etc. I've heard ppl put the diaper rash ointment A & D on their chemical peels. I'm sure it would work. I purchase from Make Up Artists Choice, and try to remember to put Glycolic on once a week or so to help maintain the TCA results (after it's fully healed). Their site has a lot of great products, ph balances, cleansers to use after the peels, etc. All of their peels also have excellent instructions. Your results look fantastic! Remember to wait at least three weeks between peels as well so your skin has fully regenerated.
Did you see skin tightening from your peeling your neck?
Sorry, I just saw this. Yes I did. I was actually very impressed at age 55 and this being my first neck and décolletage peel. If the results are this good after one, I will definitely continue.
Your results look fabulous!!!
I read a doctor's comment advising to use 30%tca..but i ordered some & the instructions say to NEVER use on the face (i assume neck & chest skin also)..im confused on whether to dilute..can some of you experienced women help me? These results look great!
That's at-home labeling for inexperienced/untrained ppl, so you don't end up with a chemical burn and/or scarring. If you've never used it before, I would recommend diluting it 1:1 and start with 15%. ALWAYS do a patch test at any strength. Good luck!
Thanks☺

Week 2

Significantly Better. Still not sure it was worth it. I have more brown spots still than I expected. Might still do lazer but going to try this one more time in a few weeks.

Be careful sweetheart! Dont forget to glop on sunblock over your chest after this peel. Did you also do your face?
The place I buy my peels from recommends a series of 5 to 6 peels. It’s a slow process, but the good thing about TCA is that it promotes new collegen production with use
I see a difference. Looks good to me. We are our own worst critics

Day 8

I’m healing but not a big as a difference said hoped so I will do another round without spot treating in a few weeks. I will be much more even with my application and hope that more brown spots will lift off. If it doesn’t work I’ll shell out the lovey for lazer next winter. Will keep updates coming!

It usually takes a full couple weeks for me to get complete healing from a home chemical peel. Give it more time and you will probably notice a big difference. Peeling twice is not uncommon either
Oh thanks good to know!!!!
I don’t usually do 25% on the chest. I do 15%, you don’t have as many sebaceous glands and the skin isn’t as thick. Be careful on the neck and Chest. They always take longer to heal than the face.
