1 week after the surgery

Recovery was surprisingly easy. I was able to go for a walk on a 2nd day post operation, and was walking freely during the rest of the week.
Posting some pictures. Can share some more details on the recovery process if required

The day of operation

Finally it arrived! My admission time was 7:30am. I had to stop all food 8 hours before that time, and all fluids 6 hours before. Therefore I just had dinner, and then my last cup of tea befor me going to bed. Knowing that I might wake up during the night and have another drink, I’ve removed any bottles on purpose from my bed table.
I’ve also packed the night before: books, journals, cleansing wipes, charger, several sizes of bras (with tags attached so I can give the back), some protein bars in case hungry post operation, bottle of water, slippers and socks just in case
On my arrival I filled in some form and then was escorted to my room. Later came the nurse, she did some checks, the anasthaesist and the surgeon. He made some funny drawings on me (see attached some pictures).
One tip: I didn’t know that there was a urine test for the pregnancy test. And I went to the loo just before coming to the hospital, and I had literally nothing more left cause I was not drinking during the night. So ladies, pls be aware of the urine test!
Luckily enough I was second on the order for the surgery and I was allowed to drink water 2 hours before the surgery. Therefore after 1 fulll glass of water, all went well.
2 hours before operation I was just reading and sleeping, looking forward for all get done and having my meal.
Nurse woke me up when the time came and I went to the « theatre ». The nurse and anaesthesiologist got me all ready and connected me to all the appliances. He started asking me about my work, that he also wanted to have my job when he was younger etc.. I started feeling some fluid in my veins...and the next thing I remember I woke up and started speaking with someone in the room thinking it was my surgeon. I still thought we were getting ready for my operation and I asked how he got on with his first one. And then I felt some tightness in my chest and realised that the operation was done!! Literally, as if this 1hour-90mn didn’t exist my life!
Later I was brought to my room where I was really dizzy and nauseous. I thought I would be able to call a cab and get home by myself. But I had to wait for my friends to finish work and come to collect me as my head was spinning and I was super nauseous.
The nurse told me it’s the reaction of my body who didn’t take any drugs and not drinking any alcohol. At least that’s positive and means I’m actually healthy!

1 day before the surgery

Quite excited, and not anxious for now... let’s see how it goes tomorrow and if i will manage to fall asleep tonight!
Bought a couple of different sizes of post op bras (good tip as with all the swelling and bruises not sure what my size will be). The admission time is super early in the morning so hope will be done quite soon. Preparing my bag: put some protein bars for post op recovery, deo, id just in case..
Also posting some pictures before the op, and saying bye bye to those small and cute ones ;)
